Found Broken HTC TOUCH PRO.. What DO i DO?

Hook it up to your pc and grab the contacts list and see if theres a "home" number or "wife", "Husband" etc.

Here is the simplest way to get it taken care of.

If it's a sprint TP :

Call customer service , tell them you found a phone , give them the ESN of that phone and they will find out who it belongs to , and hopefully they will tell you to drop it off at one of the store , and customer can go pick it up. Even though it's no good cause it' damaged.

Yeah use pocket controller pro or mymobiler to get around the screen issue.

was also gonna post my mobiler too. when my phones screen cracked thats what i used to backup my contacts and such. works pefectly. even installs on its own so you dont have to do anything touching wise. so there is really no excuse to not be able to return it unless you cant find anything in the contacts.

or you could always connect it to the pc, rip the pim.vol file and then backup your phone, restore that pim.vol see the contacts and then restore your contacts too.

since its a touch pro you could even use a tv out cable and hook it up to your television... I doubt you have a tp tv out cable laying around tho... but there are ways to build your own if you have the headphone adapter (i doubt you have)
and a ipod video cable even some portable dvd cables work... just a possibility tho.. better than some people jumping on the bandwagon and being redundant and saying give it back with no advice on how to do so. obviously your attention is to give it back if possible otherwise you wouldn't have posted here in the first place.

I agree if your going to give it back then you wanna see to it that it gets to the owner. personally I don't think leaving it at some sprint store guarantees its returning to its rightful owner because I don't think they are well equipped for lost and found... maybe they are i donno but if you can't figure it out then that's prolly next best.

if you were planning to keep it then.. um... because it has a broken screen you would end up having to pay a deductible ... and if it was reported lost or stolen I would assume you couldn't activate it ... but the true owner prolly could... good luck tho whatever happens.

im sure whoever lost the device would go into the nearest store, which would probably be the nearest store to you, and report it lost. So the store might already be aware of the missing device so just go in and have them contact the customer. You might even get a "reward". I have plenty of people give like ten,twenty bucks because their old phones were returned. The memory card might have some pictures that arent replaceable to the customer.

If the individual who lost it has insurance then they're covered ($50 for loss/theft/broken screen). If they don't have insurance and you return it then they have a broken TP and are screwed. No matter what you do their fate is sealed.
