Notice that in the title it says Broken. So it would be pretty hard for him to look up numbers, etc., unless he does it through the PC or TV. Additionally, one of his questions is how to go about getting a hold of the owner. Let's please skip the bashing him for thus far unfounded ideas that he's trying to find a way to keep the phone for himself.

You could open the keyboard, hit the phone button on the bottom left on the face of the phone, and dial your phone number using the keyboard (may or may not need area code too), then hit the phone button again. If it calls you, then the person has not gotten around to correcting the problem. You could then call the phone number that comes up on caller ID, and leave a voice mail stating you have the phone, etc.

If it does not call you, you could go to a sprint (or the actual carrier if it's someone else) store and ask them for a spare headphone adapter cable, which you can then use to make one of these tv out cables:

Somewhere on there it shows you can just pop the thing open (It's just glued together), and cut the blue wire... or was it the red... I think it's the blue, just read it if you get to this point.

I think hooking it up to the pc for use with my mobiler would be a hundred times easier than making a video cable.

correct me if im wrong, is this not a problem?

trying to activate a damaged phone and getting TEP to replace / repair phone?

its very similar to me damaging a car, buy insurance and make a claim...not cool...

turn it in, they can look up esn,

if not the folks at the store can do a phone book transfer, look up the contacts, then figure it out from there...

Problems with taking it...

Asurion would sell its own grand mother to make a buck. They will do anything possible to screw you out of a phone. They check to see when the phone was added, you have to wait 30 days on average, and have made a phone call on the handset. If you don't meet all of these criteria, they tell you to go to a Sprint store where you get laughed at.

And their rates for Sprint are going up to $100, so by the time you make the claim (30 days) you're gonna be out another 50.

Or you can just take it by a store and have them get it back to the right person. Takes them less than a minute to have a voicemail, letter, and phone call made to their home address.

When he said "floor," I assumed it was the floor of the vehicle, not the ground. Most people don't refer to the ground as the floor.

The screen is broken and I am not sure if its locked. What do you think I should do.

I have the TEP for my phone. Would it possible to use that to get it fixed? I do not want to go to the Repair Center and have them take it away because it was reported lost.

Does anyone know how to get into the phone to bring up contacts to see if i could find a phone number of the owner? I would like to return to the owner if I could get a hold of them.

Call the provider and tell them you found it and send it back.
