It is the same thing as your sprint voicemail, they just have to change the number. Your voicemail does this very same thing, do you get charged for it?

I believe clearly stated that you have to have them change the default voice mail number to 813-200-0200, the rep I talked to did not have a problem doing this, neither did the second rep when I called back to confirm the settings were correct....
I stated it the way I did because I wanted to translate the terms as easily as possibly to you guys and the sprint reps...

What happens on Sprints side is that they have to delete your default sprint voicemail service and they have to set up a new one.(don't worry because they can just redo it if you don't like it, I asked). Then they have to set up a new one going to the # 813-200-0200, when they do that, they have some options called No answer, Busy, and Unavailable, these have to all be set to Conditional because if they aren't then as you said, they will be automatically forwarded to that number, and for that you will get charged.
Don't ask me how, because I understand it is technically doing the same thing after it goes through Busy, unavailable ect....but something in there system recognizes that that is for voicemail and you DO NOT GET CHARGED...

SO yes this IS FREE AS LONG AS YOU Have it set up correctly!!!
However, try this at your own risk, it is free for me and many others who have set it up correctly, and even if they somehow mess it up, the most it is not like the charges are going to be outrageous, just make sure you call tem, have it credited back and then fix it.
Well I guess it's true when they say some guys have all the luck.

I just got off the phone with sprint every time I call I get the same response my voice mail # cannot be deleted I would have to change my number.
The Tech who goes by the name Chris said that the vmail# is the same as the phone # and there is nothing he can do. they can foward my vmail but thats about it.

Maybe the reason why you dont see any charges is because of your plan?

From the way you wrote this, it seems you do not entirely understand the difference between conditional and unconditional call forwarding. Unconditional results in ALL of your incoming calls being forwarded to a specific number. Conditional results in calls being forwarded under certain conditions, such as busy or no answer. No matter which type is used, Sprint does charge for call forwarding. The only conceivable way you could get this to work without Sprint charging would be to have them go into one of their systems and change the default number that goes to Sprint voicemail. This is different than having them set call forwarding. I have spoken to two different Tier 2 tech support supervisors who have told me that it is against Sprint policy to change the default voicemail number. Yes, it can and probably has been done by some reps, but they are not supposed to. Therefore, your mileage may vary attempting to get this working for free.
I have this set up and have had it for over a month and I'm getting no charges. Technically you're right, forwarding does cost, whats actually happening if you set this up right, the tech is actually changing your voicemail number to the new phone fusion number thats why you don't get forwarding charges.

FYI, sprint does not charge the .20 cent per minute for conditional call forwarding if you have the data talk or data messgin plan, which gives you any mobile any time minutes. The conditional call forwarding is included in that plan.

Although it is very enticing, I don't think it's worth $0.20 / min. I'll wait until Sprint wakes up and smells the coffee, because everyone else(if I can recall correctly...) has free call forwarding.

AT&T does, but not Verizon....If I'm not mistaken either.

More like different service same concept... They lease their Visual Voicemail from someone else.

I'll echo what you've just posted, it is just like the VVM on the Instinct in terms of function, the difference is the UI and Phonefusion has more options than VVM on the Instinct. I don't understand why Sprint won't make Phonefusion a native application on Windows Mobile. In my opinion Sprint is wasting money paying Licensing fees to Klausner Tech for VVM which the Instinct uses. I had the Instinct the VVM rarely worked, to my understanding the VVM is still plagued with problems.

This Is No Longer Free

The idea of this working is pretty much DEAD! I've spent the last week, calling in and trying every conceivable idea to make the forwarding work without charges to no avail. my latest try was to actually change the Voicemail Default number...which was my own number at the time to the Phonefusion.com number(i spoke to at least 6 reps before i found one to do this!). great service and it worked great with Youmail.com, callwave.com, and phonefusion.com, but with the forwarding charges I was getting billed anywhere from $3-10 per day! YIKES. this is a serious flaw to sprint service for all of us technical users out there but I think sprint doesn't really care since the general population don't really care(or know) about services like these. Sorry to be so doom and gloom, I hate it too since I'm a new sprint dealer and I just switched from AT&T. I now save $59/mth so if I wanted I could probably just pay the forwarding fees to sprint and be about the same as AT&T but I switched to save money! I will be getting a dealer account soon also so then I will save even more money.
Please if anyone has the silver bullet to solve this PM me and let me know otherwise I think the thread should be either closed or re-titled to NOT WORKING ANYMORE! or IF YOUR NOT ALREADY IN THE PROGRAM DON'T TRY CAUSE SPRINT CAUGHT ON AND IS NOW CHARGING.
