Re: 12/25/08 Verizon GPS Fix v2.0

My GPS is working but my lock times are absolutely horrible even when i'm outside on a clear day. I've been doing searches to try and find more info but i'm coming up empty. Any suggestions?

Verizon stock rom on Verizon hardware.

Re: 12/25/08 Verizon GPS Fix v2.0

So I've done the steps easily on two VZW Touch Pro's. Then mine had the oil under the screen issue so I had to get a replacement. It is a refurb

Activated the phone, Unlocked, Radio flashed to Telus, Flashed to Mighty's 6.5, (didn't think I needed this fix with his flash) but google maps wasn't working.

Went through these steps again. Installed the cab. Did the ppst(device reset itself) Did the 228, option 1 (device reset itself again). Ran the tool. Set the chip/mode/com. Opened the port. Got a lot of scrolling text, but no satalites.

Ran google maps, left it set to windows controlled (how it was on my old phone using mighty 4.16. Just says 0 satellites, switched to com4, comes up with seeking satellites (Some large number here). And still doesn't zero in.

Not sure what the deal is, I had no problems getting this working before and now on the refurb it won't do jack.

Didn't touch the PRL portion of the readme yet, but I didn't have to in the past.

Re: 12/25/08 Verizon GPS Fix v2.0

For some reason I never had the ppst.exe executable inside the windows directory of my phone. I installed Scott's rom, (which kicks a$$) and I am wondering if I can apply bored's fix, and use the Launchppst.exe that was included with Scott's ROM folder, since I don't have the ppst.exe file. Are these two executables the same?
Please advise....once I get the GPS unlocked, I am all set! My device will run like it is meant to.
Thanks!

Maverick just figured this out for me. Location needed to be turned on, then Re- *228, Option 1.

Yes i've followed all the instructions posted in this thread to the letter.

I've ensured all the settings are correct. It may be i just expect this thing to work faster than it can.

Re: 12/25/08 Verizon GPS Fix v2.0

Everytime I try the fix here it keeps telling me "Write NvItem failed. PPST will now reset the device." What exactly is going wrong here?
