Re: Verizon GPS Fix.....Phase I

The banner cab is simply a mortscript that runs at every boot that sets the proper registry key (which gets reset every soft reset) to change the banner. This is the only way to fix it unless you go back to a VZW PRI, which we all know will disable GPS. So what's happening is your device is booting and your banner is showing before the mortscript is run, just for a second, then the mortscript is run and it changes to the proper value.

Re: Verizon GPS Fix.....Phase I

I gave up once I got to page 6, but has anyone had any luck with the stock rom?

I've followed all the directions and I'm still coming up with no locks, in google maps, and in HTC GPS tool.

Any ideas?

Re: Verizon GPS Fix.....Phase I

I installed on my Touch Pro from Telus and it worked perfect! But I'm obviously getting the roaming sign... It wouldn't bother me that much, but because of that I need to do manual send/receive for my exchange server... It doesn't allow me to check the box to allow it to get items as they arrive while in roaming!! Does anyone now of anyway of fixing this on a TELUS Touch Pro (Either removing the roaming sign or enabling push e-mail while roaming)?!?

This is only for the touch pro, trying to run this on the Samsung Omnia might damage it. I am pretty sure a PRI is specific to a phone's radio, which is what this hack is modifying.

same here...just thought it was a quirk in qpst.
i got my phone straight from a verizon rep (handles the corporate account and is a verizon employee)
the gps is working fine nonetheless.

I thought Telus had unlocked GPS? This is Verizon specific I believe?

Great work.

Can you elaborate on any changes between phase I and phase II. In other words, if someone followed the phase I instructions, is there ANY reason to do phase II? Is there anything new or is the process just easier?

How would suggest someone who implemented phased I to "update" to phase II?

Also, in step 7, you mean to run ppst.exe and follow the prompts, right?

I would suggest using the update. Yes there is differences. Like true programming capabilities. You should never have to worry with anything until VZW introduces a new PRI. I recoded their PRI to allow GPS. There Phase I Fix was a Sprint PRI being tricked so to speak.

Read post 1 all other needed info is there. It's a pretty simple installation. IF you follow the steps as they are presented.
