is there any way to decrease the lock time? i don't why it takes an average of 90 seconds to get a lock everytime.

Try GC's AGPS Fix. In post 1 you will find all the required info. Make sure you install the GC AGPS cab when you are done in QPST. I got alot of emails on this topic and 8 out of 10 times they forgot the cab install at the end. Not saying you did, just make sure you do

ok maybe this is a stupid question but I read everything and I couldn't find the answer so I'm going to ask it...

Can I just install GC's AGPS cab to get AGPS working or do I need to go through all the steps on page one? It kinda seems like those are just to change the banner. Since there is a cab to do that do I still need to go through them all?

Though these may be trivial questions they do entail how exact the instructions must be followed:


1. download lllboredlll VZW GPS Fix.cab and put on your storage card

3. use gsfinder or total commander to navigate to \windows\ppst.exe

?for some odd reason will the WM6.1 file explorer not suffice or crash for proper completion of this task?

yes temp is fine....not sure if file explorer can see PPST.exe if it can then more power to ya on that one....whatever works for ya

Yes I brought up AGPS because if you are in QPST it would only make sense to apply AGPS while you were in there. If "Sprint" don't bother you then leave it be. That was for those it bothered. The cab won't work without the QPST setup applied first. AGPS is a 2 step installation process.

Has anyone tried flashing a Sprint Radio on a stock VZW to see if that will enable aGPS?

That is a very good question about the sprint radio. I am using a telus radio, did the qpst changes, installed the gc cab, and made sure location was on and do not seem to be getting agps. With my mogul, I had extremely fast connections and could get gps in all rooms of my house without any problems. Even with the above steps my touch pro does not get signal as fast and doesn't get any signal in the rooms the mogul did. If I haven't used the gps say overnight, i have to start up the htc program and wait around 1 minute or so to get a lock. After that, it locks in about 10-15 seconds but not in places the mogul would lock.

That mentions flashing different radios trying to get gps to work prior to the bored cab. For the people that already installed the bored cab and agps steps that seem to have agps working, what radio are you using? what about people who did all the steps but don't think agps is working?
