Re: *Fixed* Touch Pro overheating!! *Update* -now w/ Stage 3!

I use Mighty ROM as well and it runs great! No problems at all and battery life is excellent

Re: *Fixed* Touch Pro overheating!! *Update* -now w/ Stage 3!

I do not use WMWifiRouter but I have the same problem running Sprint Navigation. If I try to use it for anything more than a short trip the phone overheats, it stops charging and drawing power from the USB and then the battery dies. It makes Sprint Navigation almost useless. I have even tried using a clip to hang the phone in from of the AC vent... it does not help. There has to be a real solution to this... the fridge will not fit on my dash.

Excessive power drain with power hungry apps like wmwifirouter and navigation software.

Nice fix, not very practical though. lol.

Re: *Fixed* Touch Pro overheating!! *Update* -now w/ Stage 3!

Hey,

I wasn't sure about this, but I tried it anyway. After my phone froze, water got under the screen, and the glass part cracked.

I took it to a sprint store, and they gave me a brand new Touch Pro and a voucher for a free Palm Pre and 2 free bluetooth headsets. They also allowed me to have up to 3 stacked discounts on my account with no expiration as a result of the inconvenience.

HOWEVER, do NOT tell them that you used a stand-alone freezer. It MUST be a fridge/freezer set (something with the warranty, not sure).

Everyone needs to do this. It's worth it.

Matt!

Matt!
I hear kenmore is the best for this form of RMA return.

Re: *Fixed* Touch Pro overheating!! *Update* -now w/ Stage 3!

Since development has been slow lately, I've decided to take the stage 1 concept and tweak it slightly.

I bring you... [drumroll] ....Stage 1.1:

Call now! This offer not available in stores!

But wait, there's more! If you call within the next 30 minutes, we'll include the optional 9V battery accessory, a $1.79 value, yours FREE. Now you can have cooling on-the-run.

Jesting aside, yes, it works . I used the 8 thermal pads that were on the memory sinks on my old GeForce 7900GS heatsink, so it effectively transfers heat without any mess. And rubber bands keep things together and can quickly be removed.

hahaha sweet....though the portable cooling wouldn't be necessary since you can't have prevented charging if you aren't plugged in :P

I wish there was a tweak to have the phone charge no matter how hot it got, if the phone broke, oh well. I'd just get a new one.
