Re: best video playback settings to avoid jerky playback?
I wonder if the different builds are having issues with video playback.
I just threw my first movie on. For kicks I dusted off an old copy of PocketDivx Encoder, and popped in HOT FUZZ. Settings (faking old Tosh e800): File = AVI/DIVX Res = 640x360 Bit rate = "40" (about 760kb I think) Frame rate = 29.970 Audio = MP3 @ 96Kbps (kinda weak, might move it up) Two pass encoding @ VHQ Total file size = 550MB Avg speed = 98% Looks good. Plays well. Action sequences solid.

I think Kinoma is worth taking a peek at as well. I use it to watch movies over orb from my home pc and I get excellent performance. I'm using the free version.

Re: best video playback settings to avoid jerky playback?
I am a very heavy anime watcher. And found that the best conversion program is AlltoAvi which is free. http://alltoavi.sourceforge.net/ I use tcpmp as it preforms as good and sometimes even better that core player even if it is older.
What is great about this program is that it allows you to add soft encoded subtitles from mkv and mp4 files. That isn't needed in avi files are they are already encoded into the video. Just make sure to enable it. I usually set the resolution at 640 and keep aspect ratio locked to add bars instead of stretching it. Bi-cubic Video endoder: XVID Audio Bitrate: 96 (I'm sure increasing will not hurt) never use restricted mode as it sometimes recomends. Last edited by esqueue; 12-11-2008 at 10:24 PM. |

Re: best video playback settings to avoid jerky playback?
you cant really compare great looking anime vids to movie playback... while you may not notice with anime, you might easily notice things with a movie.
that being said, i have great playback with both tcpmp and core player. 640 x 3xx resolution since most of the stuff i convert is widescreen and the conversion programs i use doesn't seem to let me stretch it to 480... |

Where is the best place to buy a TV-Out cable? And what kind of TV-out cable do I use?

Expansys has the TV Out cable. They are specifically made for USB output of HTC devices.

Re: best video playback settings to avoid jerky playback?
I use SPB Mobile DVD at 640x480 resolution at about 500MB and mv vids play flawless. Im playing the vids in TCPMP on various settings and they all look good. The older vids from my mogul in 320x240 might show slight digitizing on really fast action scenes but that expected bcuz of the lower vid quality anyway. I have to say SPB really does work well.
