Re: best video playback settings to avoid jerky playback?

I wonder if the different builds are having issues with video playback.
I just threw my first movie on. For kicks I dusted off an old copy of PocketDivx Encoder, and popped in HOT FUZZ.

Settings (faking old Tosh e800):
File = AVI/DIVX
Res = 640x360
Bit rate = "40" (about 760kb I think)
Frame rate = 29.970
Audio = MP3 @ 96Kbps (kinda weak, might move it up)
Two pass encoding @ VHQ
Total file size = 550MB
Avg speed = 98%

Looks good. Plays well. Action sequences solid.
