best video playback settings to avoid jerky playback?

I have the divx mobile player and am playing an AVI, 23 minutes, 153mb, 640x480 so i can do tv-out if i want.
The sound is fine but the video plays sort of jerky. Is there nothing I can do about it other than to reduce the quality of the video either by framerate/resolution/etc?
is there another player like TCPMP that will play the file more smoothly or is it just a limitation of the phone itself (not enough processing power).
thanks

No its the beta ver. For the coreplayer that's why its kinda "laggy" most website have the coreplayer for 20bucks. And trust me well worth it! Its one more that a few forum members are using I'm sure they will chime in and give there Opinion. But me so far its coreplayer all the way!

Re: best video playback settings to avoid jerky playback?

I was able to test Coreplayer vs TCPMP Recomp 3 on some Divx files I have and Coreplayer handles them significantly better with its Qtv optimizations. I will likely be purchasing it once 1.30 comes out.

Re: best video playback settings to avoid jerky playback?

I have yet to find good conversion settings to make any video play at max quality smoothly.

Rumor has it that it may not be.

Having used CP a little more, I am noticing a few annoying things about it. It doesn't seem to handle asf/wma streaming files very well, which eliminates it from consideration as my main player, since I stream radio. Anyone find a way to do asf/wma with CP?

It seems ridiculous that a function that worked with TCPMP doesn't work with Coreplayer.
