TP Locking Up Overnight

so can you other guys confirm disabling Today Timeout fixes this problem? this is the only letdown that is hindering me from buying this phone...

Now, is your G-Alarm installed on the storage card or in device memory?

If it's on the storage card, uninstall and put it on device memory and see if your issue goes away.

Thanks, but it's an albino boa constrictor. I do have an albino burmese too, though. Mine locked up with the stock alarm, but never with G-Alarm. And with the increased space on the TP, I put almost all of my programs directly on the device unless it is something I rarely use.

I had my TP freeze up 3 times since Saturday. I thought it was the GPS, but it happened after I had no GPS installed.

Was fine since I got it 10/31, but then in the last 4 days its frozen 3 times! I will try a hard reset, but something tells me that won't be fixing it.

My phone MUST work in the mornings because I use it as an alarm and its essentially my "on-call" phone for work. I love this phone, but damn it!


Just unchecked the Today timeout. Will keep an eye on it the next few days. Thanks!
I also had my wallpaper being pulled from the storage card... not sure if that would cause it (would it?), but either way I moved it to my device.

Mine also froze the first night but was fine afterwards, until this morning. I woke and saw the screen on but dim (instead of being off) and noticed that the alarm didn't go off and it hadn't done the nightly Sprite Backup. I put it in standby and went to shower, and when I came back it was frozen with the screen off. My Touch was very reliable in this regard, so I'll check on it (since I haven't wiped it yet) to see if I unchecked the Today Timeout on that one.

Mine has locked up just about every night. I have the cell radio and wifi turned on. I live in a very bad coverage area, hence the wifi being on. Last night I disabled the cell radio and my phone did not lock up. I will leave the cell radio on again tonight and see if it locks up again.

Don't let these random issues put you off from buying it, people having problems are in the minority.

I'm the OP and I haven't had a single lockup since I started this thread. It could be either the removal of the today timeout or the hard reset I did. I installed G-Alarm yesterday because I got sick and tired of the process to stop the alarm. Woke up this morning to my G-Alarm, hit the stop button and I was up. Looks like the problem is solved. I would try these steps in this order:

1. Disable today timeout
2. Make sure the device has enough ventilation (in case it gets hot while charging)
3. Hard reset the device

I even left activesync on last night and it didn't lock up. So far i'm loving this device after some minor customizations.

I can also chime in at this point that after de-selecting the 'Today Timeout' I have not had a lock up while charging overnight on both the Touch Diamond and Touch Pro.
