Re: TP locks up during sleep / charge

this is my first post ever. I love these forums because they help alot and have really great ideas on troubleshoot tips. Anyway, I purchased my phone when Sprint first allowed it to be ordered online. I have not had any issues with this phone. I also have to admit that I've had a few lock ups but nothing with the phone OS or OEM applications. I started to experience Lock ups after installing third party apps such as S2U2, TCPMP, but after a few setting changes, i'm still waiting. SPB time is such a great software, not once have it failed me, well maybe once and that's bc it was my fault. I also noticed from reading a couple of ya'll post that some are still using the Mogul charger on the TP? Why?

TP Locking Up Overnight

2 nights in a row, I wake up in the morning and pull my TP off the charger. It is completely locked up requiring a soft reset to get it to respond. The first night with only 30% left on battery and last night with 80% on the battery. I have made a lot of registry tweaks, so I am wondering if anyone else is having this problem. Could it be a certain registry setting/power management setting? Is anyone experiencing this problem?

I feel like the olden days of the Apache!!!

I know I can hard reset and probably fix the problem, just fishing for insight on possible issues I can just fix to stop this from happening.

i've had mine for almost 2 weeks and it hasn't frozen yet... i've installed a lot of apps and made several edits and still works fine. it's definitely possible your edits could be causing this. either that or you have an app on there that's unstable. you should do a search on any obscure apps or registry edits you're using on here and see if people have had issues. if you can't find your culprit, hard reset. i know it'd be hard to do, but after hard resetting maybe you should run a clean tp for a day or two to see if it locks up without any edits. if it does, maybe your phone is just defective.

Yeah thats what I was planning on doing tonight, just threw it out there to hopefully pinpoint the problem and make that one correction w/o hard reset.

Thanks for the response!

Re: TP Locking Up Overnight

You are not the only one who has had this happen. A few nights ago, my phone was locked up when i woke up. I have no idea what caused it. The only regedits I have made are the cabs for louder earpiece volume, phone as modem, and roaming.

Any ideas?

Well, I haven't made any of your regedits?? I have made performance and battery regedits.

Wondering if it is the phone. I am going to hard reset and run clean for a few nights to see if that fixes.

Re: TP Locking Up Overnight

hard reset may do the trick. my phone has yet to do this overnight but has locked up once when i was running my garmin xt on it. been working fine ever since though.

i would be pissed if my phone froze overnight as i use it as my sole alarm clock to wake up at 4:50 and there's no way i would wake up at that time if it didnt beep. hope you get your issue fixed and keep us posted....

sweet, update us on your progress after the hard reset... i'm curious to know if it's your phone or something you might have put on it... like i said, i've been lucky? so far and i hope it's just something you put on... but if it happens to you after a hard reset then i may have to worry.. cause my mogul always locked up on me and i HATED that.
