Re: Touch Pro Cleanup (Sprint Edition)

I installed { sprint_touchpro_cleanup_largeicons } but the start menu was not changed to the highly organized screenshot you posted. I installed the cab to the storage card as recommended. How did I blow it?

Thanks.

Silly question.... I installed your cab months ago (great cab BTW!) and have since installed Diamond Tweak and Advanced Config for other reasons (BT Toggle and some other speedup tweaks I thought would work) and the phone has been acting erratically since. Uninstalling the other two programs won't undue what they changed and I don't remember what the changes were anyway. Would reinstalling your cab cause (or fix) any other problems? I don't really want to hard reset.

What went wrong is that you installed it to the Storage Card, which is something I would NEVER recommend. Data belongs on the storage card, not programs!

In some cases yes, but it largely depends on the specific tweaks that you did with those. I do know the most common bug in those is that they break the ability to answer calls if your data connection is active. There is some information in Baffle's Essentials thread (stickied right along with this one) with more information on solving that issue.

If you have to reinstall mine, I recommend only re-installing the Tweaks Only version, otherwise it might duplicate your start menu icons since it's not a "clean" slate.

Exclamation Re: Touch Pro Cleanup (Sprint Edition)

I ran this with the Mighty ROM 4.12 and it cleared out all my apps and messed up my ROM lol. Oh well, I just hard resetted and did it all over again.

Just figured I would warn you guys about what it does with Mighty ROM

Yeah, I'm not surprised. I try to make it really clear in the initial post not to use it for custom ROM's, and although the Tweaks Only package should work with just about anything, I still advise a lot of caution when mixing and matching custom ROM's and this package.

Re: Touch Pro Cleanup (Sprint Edition)

Thanks for the reply. I agree with the programs on phone and data on storage card concept, but your instructions in the first post read:

--------------
How to Install:
--------------

1. Save the file somewhere convenient, like your Desktop or My Documents.
2. Connect your phone to your computer using your USB cable.
3. When ActiveSync pops up, let it do its thing, and then click the "Explore" button on the toolbar.
4. Copy the file (drag and drop usually works best) to the phone. That said, I strongly recommend putting it on your storage card.
5. Disconnect the phone from the computer.
6. On the phone, go to Start > Programs > File Explorer.
7. Find the file on your storage card (or My Documents or wherever you put it).
8. Tap on the file to open the zip file... then tap on the cab inside... when prompted, tap Install. It will require you to do a soft reset when it finishes.

You may want to edit that if you don't actually recommend it. Should I remove it from the card and reinstall it on the phone? Thanks for the patience and help.

You can't just stop at that step... there's a 5-8 to follow...

You can't just stop at that step... there's a 5-8 to follow... copying it to the phone is for storage purposes, and doesn't actually install it until you've done all the steps.

Re: Touch Pro Cleanup (Sprint Edition)

i have a similar issue happening where my start screen is not like the posted screenshot after installing the large icons pack. it has only two icons at the top, touch mobile guide and file explorer, then going down the list is today, games, office mobile, windows mobile, camera, solitaire, windows media, programs, settings. i havent installed anything else on my phone tho so nothing else in the programs folder.

i did install to the phone.

but by far the most distressing part is that after installing the clean up cab i also seem to have lost my finger friendly on screen keyboard! i now have a full on screen keyboard with tiny little keys that require the use of the stylus. i cant find any mention of this in your first post with the details of whats included. is there a way for me to get my finger friendly keyboard back?

Re: Touch Pro Cleanup (Sprint Edition)

Azure, that's just a selection, tap on the little "keyboard" icon on the bottom of the screen and change it back.... there are a couple choices.

Well after 2 months, I finally agree that I like this, didn't like it at first, hard reset, but tried it again it does make things better.

Thanks for you work and help.

Now if I can only figure out how to move newlely installed programs into a different folder....
