Re: Touch Pro Cleanup (Sprint Edition)
Those apps change this to a gprs value that causes the answer issue
Code:
[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Comm\ConnMgr\Planner\Settings] "SuspendResume"="#777" almost forgot to Thank GoodThings2Life!! I've been using the full cleanup since day 2, as always great job!

Re: Touch Pro Cleanup (Sprint Edition)
shaggylive, Thanks a lot for pointing that thread out! I haven't figured out how to change the setting to "#777" because I'm getting hex like crazy. I posted to that thread in hopes that someone will tell me the right answer.
To answer rjmjr69's questions, I had problems pretty quickly after installing Advanced Config. This was also after installing TP Cleanup too. The OS seemed a little slower, programs were not working right and just generally doing anything became an annoyance. I quickly uninstalled it. Diamond Tweak's main problems are the GPRS changes as well as this delayed answering problem that I'm currently trying to fix. If somehow the author of this app could change some of the setting for the CDMA version of the TP, I think we'd be set. rjmjr69, Could you provide a link to the add-on for Advanced Config that's specifically for the TP? I didn't see that and wonder what it does. I still dream of a day when we could combine the best of all three of these apps into one super app that does exactly what we want! Who's gonna take that challenge on? |

Re: Touch Pro Cleanup (Sprint Edition)
GoodThings2Life - I had a couple of questions about the Internet Sharing Hack that I was hoping that you would help explain to me.
From the Touch Pro Essentials thread I noticed the following: Hack Internet Sharing to work: [HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Comm\InternetSharing] Delete Extension key, set/create MaxCMCon=0 (decimal). [HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Comm\InternetSharing\settings] Set ForceCellConnection="Sprint" I installed the "Tweaks Only" version of the Touch Pro Cleanup file. Today, I was browsing the registry with Total Commander and I confirmed that: [HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Comm\InternetSharing\settings] Set ForceCellConnection="Sprint" was set to Sprint. However, I noticed that in: [HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Comm\InternetSharing] that the extension key still existed and that there did not appear to be a MaxCMCon file. Does the "Tweaks Only" version of the Touch Pro Cleanup include the internet sharing hack? If so, why is the registry different than the registry described in Touch Pro Essentials? Is there any significance in the differences between the two (i.e., "Tweaks Only" leaves extension key in registry whereas the Touch Pro Essentials thread instructs to delete the extension key and add a MaxCMCon file with a decimal value set to "0")? |

In the case of Internet Sharing, YES, as documented in the original post that hack IS included, because I use sharing frequently. To answer your question, I leave the "Extension" value present but blank in order to know that there was previously a value there. There may eventually be a purpose for this too. As for not setting the MaxCMCon, it's NOT required for the hack to work, and I'm really not even sure why it's suggested to change it... if you can enlighten me on a reason or purpose for it, I'd gladly reconsider.

Re: Touch Pro Cleanup (Sprint Edition)
Thanks for the explanation. I honestly have just been slowly going through the Touch Pro Essentials thread and deciding what changes to apply in addition to the "Tweaks Only" version of the Touch Pro Cleanup that I installed. As part of that process I've been using Total Commander and checking registry settings to see whether my phone was configured the same as defined in the Touch Pro Essentials guide. I noticed the difference so I thought I would ask and I appreciate your response. I like your minimalist approach to updating the registry only when you have to and leaving the extension key in case it serves a later purpose. I don't know the impact of MaxCMCon so I am definitely not suggesting that it be added to your Touch Pro Cleanup files. As they say - if it isn't broke, then don't fix it.
Again, thanks for your response and for making these clean up files as well as some of your other tutorial threads. It has all been a tremendous help to me and I've had a lot of fun tweaking and improving my Touch Pro. |

Re: Touch Pro Cleanup (Sprint Edition)
after I installed the first package, I can't see the body of any of my emails. I can see the headers just fine. But when I clicked on the message, it is just a blank. Anybody have any idea on this? I apologize as I have not read the entire 26 pages so far. Thanks!

Re: Touch Pro Cleanup (Sprint Edition)
I love this..thanks.
I installed the full package on my Sprint Touch Diamond (not pro). Worked pretty well, but in addition to erasing Sprint TV and Sprint Music, it eliminated all links to Sprint Navigation. No more icons to launch and could not launch with voice command. After searching, I found I could launch by going to Programs/Telenav. With some other issues I, I finally did a couple of hard resets and then just loaded your Tweaks Only version, along with the color changes. Now, the long-pess-lock function unlocks itself randomly. strange. Also is there a way to add your re-arrangement of the menu and make the start menu text smaller like in the full version of your tweaks? thanks. |
