I try my absolute best to be a minimalist about registry settings, so I try to change the fewest registry keys possible to make a hack work. Sometimes that's not possible and I have to copy a whole key worth of values to make something work, but for the most part I really try to keep it to a minimum.
In the case of Internet Sharing, YES, as documented in the original post that hack IS included, because I use sharing frequently.
To answer your question, I leave the "Extension" value present but blank in order to know that there was previously a value there. There may eventually be a purpose for this too.
As for not setting the MaxCMCon, it's NOT required for the hack to work, and I'm really not even sure why it's suggested to change it... if you can enlighten me on a reason or purpose for it, I'd gladly reconsider.
