Does anyone else have a crack in the chrome? - Page 4

hi guys...i have htc touch phone...got it about year ago.....i found out that a have same chrome defect(attached)...so can i ask sprint to exchange my phone to another one, considering this as a factory defect. Thanks a lot....and since they do not sell htc touch any more i wonder if they give me htc pro instead.....i know it does sound really funny, but why not))))

they still sell the original Touch and there are plenty of refurbs so I wouldnt count on a trade-up. Theres also a huge difference between cracks on a week or 2 old phone vs a 1 year old one too.

I have a crack on the right side where one of the the sliding keyboards slots (bottom) meets the chrome edge. Another is starting to form on the same side where the upper slot meets the chrome. Not sure if this is from normal use or if it is being caused by my normal instinct to slide the screen from right to left as I did with Mogul. Does anyone else have cracks appeaing in the area of the slider?

These don't look like cracks. They look like parting lines from the plastic molds used to make the parts. You will find thses types of lines on almost anything you own that is plastic. I see them on all sides of my TP. As a matter of fact, the black plastic end of the stylus with theblittle nub has them on 2 sides. It's common, now it turns out to actually crack there, that's an issue.

Just so you all are aware the memo that was described previously in this post is incorrect, while Sprint acknowledges this is a known issue with this device, it goes on to say that they will not be replacing them for this issue, and that this device meets "industry standards" for durability.
I am simply posting this to let you guys know not to expect a swap out for this issue at every location. I will say that most members of management will more than likely take care of this issue outside of the 30 day exchange period as it is the right thing to do, (they will ALWAYS take care of this once during the exchange period).
Good luck to those of you experiencing any of these issues.

Yeah, upon closer inspection, I think the only problem with these "cracks" are the people taking the time to complain about them, wasting Sprint and HTC's resources replacing a phone that is perfectly fine. Now if there is other hardware problems, or a crack that is clearly visible and a crack, then by all means complain, but for these lines which seem to be normal and are barely visible, no offense, but get a life.

Maybe I'm one of the actual people to have a noticeable crack on the left side of my pro, between the volume and "HTC Innovation on the bottom half of the phone. I say its noticeable because my nail stops if i slowly go through the crack, which becomes a slight chip where my finger stops in the groove.

Upon closer inspection i compared my phone to the screen shot, and i also have a very very slight line on the right hand corner by the charger, which i believe is part of the manufacturing process and perhaps also luck of the draw.

Regardless, i waited for months for this phone, So i expect the new revisions on later builds might fix this problem. Which i expect is sometime Early December, Late Nov.

i also have two little chips on my touch pro hmm i wonder why i spend all this money on this phone and they use cheap products to make it lol

Look at these pics. I never dropped the phone, accidentally bumped it or has anyone used it besides myself. I noticed these chrome anomalies a week later after having my pro and wondered what caused it. Since I came across several threads in here talking about Sprint swapping out Pros with cracked Chromes.. then i wish to know if this is a defective Chrome unit. I would really live with it IF this was going to be the only issue with the Chrome.. but what will happen several weeks later? Will it flake off? Anyways... please gimme some thoughts..... THXS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
