Some people have been able to get it replaced by calling Sprint, but YMMV. Your best guarantee is through BesetBuy, however.

My chrome is starting to crack too. I never dropped it. Its in the ESN range listed previously and I have until Jan 24th to exchange at Best Buy.
Are they releasing them with a different finish? If I exchange it won't it just happen all over again?

i Spoke with sprint and they said there was no known issue... then i went to the local sprint dealer and he said the same thing. then i called htc and they said the same thing. is this like a massive conspiracy?????????? its obviously defective if there are so many complaints. wtf, if u make a sh*tty product make it right. Im not done with sprint yet tho... its time to get loud.

I also talked to sprint and bugged them until they searched around in the computer. The tech support guy is the only one who found anything and tried to help. He read a report saying the chrome cracks if you drop the phone. Basically, the offered me a refurb (in exchange for my new phone...no way) and said otherwise try the sprint store.

Well its January and I talked to the same repair tech at sprint store and he said the the new revision of the touch pro should be out around Jan 13. He said it will have a matte finish instead of the chrome finish. So I'll call him back again around that time to see if its true or not. He said to bring whatever I have and they'll swap out what I bring for the new revision. Hope its true and the new version is of better quality...anyone can confirm this?

I have a crack in the chrome on my phone. I did not drop it and when I went to the sprint store I received the same treatment many others have posted here. They tried to say I dropped it, going as far as trying to find scratches indicated such but they could not find a scratch on it. They denied it being a issue and told me I could replace it through my insurance. WTF I should pay a deductable for a default in the manufacturing of this product. Hell to the no. I'm not finish with Sprint yet either.

man, i would love for this to be true. i just hope they give me the matte one instead of the chrome when they sent out for my replacement. i think the chrome looks a little rediculous

Wow, i realized that the touch pro chrome paint sucks big time. i bought the phone for about a 2 weeks. haven't dropd the phone for dinged the phone. the phone has always been in the case. just today i noticed that the chrome paint got scratched off on the edge already. WTF? some horrible quality.
