Re: Insurce for Touch Pro

I'm always getting insurance on my phones. If it breaks your not spending $600 for a new phone and if they keep the phone long enough, they give you the newer model if they carry the old phone in stock anymore. I had 2 replacements this year so far so its paid for itself.

Re: Insurce for Touch Pro

Sprint insurance is the best. I got my 6700 upgraded to a Mogul. I had my Mogul replaced 5 or 6 times free. Definetely love the insurance.

The plan from Best Buy only covers damage. So if the phone is broken for any reason, it's covered with no deductible. However if your phone is lost or stolen, it doesn't cover you at all.

Compare that to Sprint's plan: Damaged phones are similarly repaired with no deductible. The only time you have to pay the $50 is if you need your phone replaced because it was lost or stolen -- and that isn't even handled through Sprint. It's an insurance program proved by Asurion. I have done this twice on my Apache (6700) with no problems. You call them, put $50 on a credit/debit card, and have a new phone in a few days; no questions asked. You just call customer service from the new phone, Sprint activates it for free, and you're good to go.

Not correct. Physical and water damage are NOT covered. If you get it wet, $50. If you break the screen, $50. It wasn't always this way though. Until 9/1/08 screens physical damage was covered, not water though.

Re: Insurce for Touch Pro

Last time I was on the online advance exchange site for TEP (non-deductible), which was definitely after 9/1, it still had cracked screen as one of the choices when they ask what the problem is.

I usually get good refurbs. The past 2 months though I have gotten 3 6700's that all broke. The 4th one they sent popped and started smoking as soon as I put the battery in and powered the phone up. It was also cracked on the outside. They are now replacing it with a Touch Pro free of charge...

Insurance rocks!
