Question -- if you use this method, does Kinoma do on-the-fly bandwidth throttling?

It wouldn't be able to, no.

Currently, we support the orientation sensor on the HTC Touch Diamond, plus screen orientation changes done via system settings or hardware triggers (like slide-out keyboards).

As you mention there's another scenario, which is rotated video playback even when screen orientation for the phone as a whole hasn't changed. We're looking at the best way to support that across the spectrum of devices out there.

Re: Touch Pro & Orb.

@ Charles I have the paid version of Kinoma Play I must say the most disappointing thing so far has been the audio/video sync issues with orb playback, Is this something that is being worked on, I was hoping to make Kinoma my primary video player and this just spoils that for me I have to result to going back to Core Player which the playback is not a smooth but at least the audio/video are in sync. Please tell me if there is someting i can do on my home pc with orb or something i can try on my phone (HTC touch Pro), thanks.

I personally was looking to get a HTC Touch Pro to replace my iPod Touch, hoping it will fix out-of-sync issues that I have on my iTouch (Orb's official player is a bit of a mess on the iTouch and even that has issues with audio/video syncing up).

I must say though, I was looking for a dedicated application that would allow me to log into orb on a PPC and none of my searches came up with this application, I've already bookmarked the page now for when I do get my touch pro

What is really strange though is that it plays fine when opening a link from a browser and playing in another media player but something with the integration is causing the issue. Would be nice if i could somehow have kinoma open when opening a *.asx stream file from PIE.

No, unfortunately there isn't. They have stubbornly refused to remedy this despite repeated requests from users for a solution....

When you install KP (I have the paid version) it immediately highjacks ALL your file associations. That alone is bad enough, but to add insult to injury it does it without even asking permission....(unless that's been corrected in a version that I was not notified about)

After installing KP in my TouchPro, the next step I took was to open Resco Explorer & reset the file associations the way I wanted them......

I combed through a few weeks of support issues, and I don't see any general problems with this. If you can contact our support folks, they'll be happy to help you figure out what's up.

(To help expedite things, you can temporarily add another user/password that support can use for testing. The support person who helps you will keep it private.)
