Re: glitch in the contact software

HTC really needs to fix this with a rom update or something. It's pretty damn annoying.

Re: glitch in the contact software

I contacted HTC about this. Basically, they said they will log it as an issue. They also told me to contact Sprint. I did, and the tech said I should exchange it at Best Buy (where I bought it) since I'm within my 30 days.

Re: glitch in the contact software

I don't have this issue, but I don't use the stock Contacts app (I use iContacts: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=402724 ), though even when the stock app appears when I click "All People" in the TF3D People tab, hitting r does nothing other than start filtering contacts. I have a 10/18 build w/ stock ROM. I also installed PocketInformant, though it isn't my default Contacts app.

IContact does not fix anything. The only time you have this "R" issue when you initiate contact via manilla.

+1 for IContact in general though. Awesome app.

Re: glitch in the contact software

Wow! thanks for posting this. I thought I was going crazy.

I've been having various "problems" with my touch screen - I thought I was just having trouble getting used to it.

My phone seems to randomly dial people, but now I realize that a lot of them must be because my boss' name starts with 'R', as do several friends. This explains why my friend 'A' (the first contact) gets dialed a lot.

That, and I keep accidentally dialing people when I scroll thru contacts, get the endless scroll, tap the screen to stop it, but it actually selects a contact and dials (I must tap twice - I can't figure it out).

Anyway - at least I know it's not just me. I honestly was starting to consider that this phone is not for me.

I also select people on accident while scrolling. It's because the touch screen isn't sensitive enough... something with their makeshift means of making it flush--or something...

I wonder why they did it fine on the original Touch, but not on the Diamond or Pro...

Wow this is an interesting bug. Does this happen on the Diamond? Or the Touch?
