Has anyone tried Slingbox with TV out?

Maybe I'm missing something but what's the point of using sling box over TV-out? If you have a TV in front of you, why don't you just watch TV directly instead of over a network?

My guess would be if you're traveling and don't have cable where you're staying. But I don't see why you wouldn't just watch it on your phone. It's got to look better than watching it on TV with the resolution being so small.

Actually, the video quality for slingbox looked better on the Mogul. I'm assuming it's because slingplayer mobile is still a QVGA app just being upscaled.

I noticed this too. It looked my better on my old Moto Q. Oh well at least it works.

What is slingbox? sorry, I have heard about it for quite some time now, but I never figured out if it is free or pay? Do I have to have a converter or something connected to my home cable in the first place for it to work?

I found that the default automatic settings didn't work too well on my pro (ie, looks like crap). Under the "encoding" section, try manually setting it to 500, 15 fps, i-frame at 10, and resolution at 320x240.

It actually looks pretty decent at these settings (turn the screen brightness to max too!). I do get some tearing at full screen, but I think that will only be fixed with a better video driver... Definitely watchable though.

Are you using version 1.6 ? The video quality on my pro is way better than on the Mogul.

what are you using under settings? It doesn't work that great for me and I'm using 1.6

i haven't been able to find any settings that work well in full screen mode. the video is choppy and much much worse than it was on the mogul. i'm really disappointed i really hope this is fixed soon.
