Question Has anyone tried Slingbox with TV out?

I've already searched around for this but the stupid search engine won't let me search for "slingbox tv out" because "out" and "tv" are "too short"! Dumb!!!

Anyways,

I only want to get the TV out for my Pro if you can stream with Slingbox. Has anyone tried it yet? If so, how was the stream?

Thanks!

Re: Has anyone tried Slingbox with TV out?

As a matter of fact, I tried it out today.

Here is the issue...

When you plug the video cable in, the screen goes to landscape mode. So, what happens is that slingplayer goes into landscape mode and you can't change the channels without unplugging the cable, selecting your channel, then plugging the cable back in. Kind of a pain.

Other than that, it works very well. Very usable. I'm looking forward to traveling now because I should be able to just plug the TP into the hotel room TV.

Hope this helps!

**EDIT**

Darkness just explained how to bring up the remote screen. So, yeah, it works great.

That's not quite true
You can bring up the remote and channel favorites while in landscape mode by sliding your finger up from the bottom of the screen to about 1/8th from the bottom.

I hooked it up to my TV, and honestly, there is a very slight delay/pixelation..but other than that, it's VERY VERY usable.

Pretty amazing when you think about what this phone can do!

I assume the slingbox feed looks just as ****ty on the TV as it does on the phone's screen (cause it's scaled down to QVGA)?

It doesn't look spectacular, but as long as you aren't right up on the TV, it's very passable.

I think you need to have realistic expectations. It's a phone streaming video over the Internet....

You can use the keyboard as well... For quite a few functions, and it's easier to deal with than the on screen microscopic buttons. If you want to change channels, either type the channel in or use the + or - keys...

Re: Has anyone tried Slingbox with TV out?

Anybody having trouble accessing slingbox? It worked perfectly on my mogul, but on my Touch Pro it says it cannot connect to finder service or finder id provided is invalid - which is weird cause i entered everything the same as i did on my mogul. Any help would be appreciated, thanks.
