Re: What is your build date? Do you have a defect?

My second phone has an 11/3 build date...so far earpiece and speaker are definitely better, and I don't have the raised home and dial keys issue...have not tried GPS yet so no comment on the lag, although this does appear to have a different ROM than my prior version...at least that's what SPB told me when it tried to restore my backup...perhaps the ROM tweaks I got from this site triggered that though...

Re: What is your build date? Do you have a defect?

Build date: 10/13/08

So far I have not noticed any physical defect (no raised buttons, no blown speaker/earpiece) on it. Software-wise? I did hard reset twice, trying to figure out the best performance/feature load balance and it's pretty smooth and fast.

As for the battery/overheating? Well, almost ALL of us has that problem, so do I. I haven't experienced where it's so hot it won't charge. Since I kept it charged most of the time, either at home, the office or even in the car.

Hope the newer ones won't have these problems and Sprint, please don't disappoint us with such an awesome piece of technology.

This is more likely. I have used SPB backup and even backing up to the exact same rom has given me the same thing. You have to actually look at the rom date/rev to know if it's different or not.

Re: Touch Pro Build Date

No one here really care about the GPS lag (in reporting your actual position) problem or the voice command problem (not announcing caller name)? Or is it that no one cares about them

Those two problems are huge deal breakers for me...

Please comment if those two problems are not present on your newer built date ones. I only have a wk or so left for exchange at bb. thanks

Re: What is your build date? Do you have a defect?

For those of you that have/no longer have the blown speaker issue, can you hear static when you are fiddling with volume control and are turning the ringer all the way up? I feel like there's no standard for comparison, and I was wondering if there's anybody who can turn their ringer all the way up while having the speakerphone pointed straight towards them and hear no static. I have a 10/19 build and I hear the static when I turn the ringer up.

Straw that breaks the camel's back: The keyboard LED behind the 2&3 keys has gone out.

I'm going to see if Sprint will replace it.
I got my replacement the other day, build date of 10/30/08.

The first phone definitely felt like a "Monday" phone, the new one feels much more solid, the battery door doesn't creak, the buttons aren't raised, and the LEDs all work.

Sound quality is great as well, battery life is acceptable, and the heat is somewhat manageable.
