I could hard reset it, however, I like the phone after all the mods... minus the inherent overheating/battery problems that switching a product for the same phone model probably won't resolve.

Oh, I thought you meant you were reluctant to return it, because of the modifications...

As horrible as this sounds, it makes some perverse sense. On mine it registers that it's plugged in, and so turns on the higher backlight level, even when in the heat state where it's not charging. So drains more power when plugged in w/o charging. Ugh.

[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Drivers\BuiltIn\Battery]
"PollInterval"=dword:20000 Basically, change it from 5000 to 20000 then see if battery life and heat performance will improve. I'm trying it right now and will report results. |

During my heat-testing yesterday, I found that the battery was only about 92F, while the RADIO around the LED easily hit 115F, THROUGH the plastic. I have no idea how hot it really gets. Hopefully the Fuze won't have this same issue... |

This is CRAZY! What does one do to get our concerns put before HTC and Sprint? HTC's website basically says they don't want to hear from you if you bought a branded phone.

Basically, you need to give Sprint a message. That message is to keep exchanging your phone until you get one that works right. If more and more people do this, they will FIX THE PROBLEM. If the majority of fanboys here keep the phone, and make workarounds/etc, then Sprint/HTC gets away with this, and they will do it again. I never owned a Mogul, but from what I can tell, that MAJORLY screwed up with the RAM. HTC also got away with putting crap screens in a majority of their Touchs, and most people either didn't know that a good screen existed, or they didn't care enough to get it swapped out. A mentality like that is exactly what HTC/Sprint wants. The lazy/uniformed/fanboy customer. They can dish out this crap all day long, and not have any negative effects. Brilliant, HTC. Just brilliant. |
