But I am. Just like every iPhone customer is not a loyal sheep of AT&T, not every Mogul/Touch Pro customer is going to be loyal to Sprint. So hooray for you: You get to pay at least $30 more for features that I already have unlimited. If you've got that kind of money to blow, good for you. If I'm going to wait, then I might as well wait it out on MY terms. Just like I did with the Touch. I now have all the features a Sprint customer does, but with unlimited calling anywhere plus EVDO internet and tethering, and I pay $360 a year less for it. So yeah, I'll wait. And once you Sprint users get through dealing with all the patches and bugs, I'll snag one off eBay or Craig's List for about half the price day 1 customers do theirs. A bad ESN Chocolate 3 is entirely optional in the meantime, as my Touch is still running like a champ. After all, I can afford at least two other premium phones with the savings I'll reap.

Re: CEO's. Execs. Corporate Idiots. Etc.
All this *****ing and whining about how well Apple treats their customers better than HTC and Sprint? Do you all realize that going from the Apple Iphone to the Iphone 3G just meant a GPS and data update? In order to to make it sound like a new phone they had to resell it. The Mogul came out with no GPS and no Evdo Rev-A and instead of charging their customers again the following year for the updates they handing it out for FREE!!!!!

Nothing their army of lawyers can't handle. So give it a rest. And the $50 you pay a month: Is that the same for all Sprint customers, or just loyal customers like you? |

Re: CEO's. Execs. Corporate Idiots. Etc.
The CEO's, Execs, etc... are just doing business. They gotta get rid of the current product before introducing the new product. Every industry does it... not just cell phone's. It would be stupid for them to start selling the two new phones now because no one would buy the remaining older models. I know some people will wait until the Diamond and Pro hit shelves and the older ones drop in price, and pick one older model up. Most people won't touch the old model if the new one's live up to the hype.
People like me are dealing with their older phone until a proper replacement pops up on the scene. Just breathe, homie. It's not going to be much longer. As for iPhone... the first phone was bare-bones... It sucked. The new one isn't much better. I wouldn't compare HTC with Apple... At least HTC is making strides, imo |

So this is not an anti-Sprint thread, so much as it is an anti-HTC-get-your-head-out-of-your-***-and-offer-the-iPhone-some-REAL-competition-for-crissakes thread. But shame on Sprint for all the cheap knockoffs that they've been pandering while a real champ like the Raphael/Touch Pro could be offered. *EDIT: And shame on them for removing this devices front-side camera! WTF? But then it's all about that corporate dollar in the end. And I think Sprint customers deserve better. I hear all the time how Sprint and Verizon customers have jumped ship to AT&T after playing with the iPhone, no matter how crippled the device is. But these margins are obviously quite slim. Re: CEO's. Execs. Corporate Idiots. Etc.
The reason they do not want to release the phone yet is because the iPhone is launching.
When you decide to launch a product you have take a look at the market demand. If the world is raving about on device, to simply introduce another device will hurt sales because the focus is on the "one device". A better approach is to see how this device works. Identify the faults then make your device better by correcting it. Now when the fad dies out you can come out of the woodworks with your device. Faster, more features and better tweaked for public consumption. It will be your turn to shine. Why spend millions marketing a product that will be gravely overshadowed by another. That's like trying to present your golden egg on the public access channel during the superbowl on superbowl Sunday. Maybe sprint hacked all the other carriers and downloaded all the statistical data that suggests that the biggest month that will contain contracts that are expiring is September. School kids will want it for school. November brings biggest sales numbers and December brings gifted contracts. That's my take. |
