I remember the WordPerfect Beyond Words tour to promote WordPerfect 6.0. The biggest deal about it was the WYSIWYG functionality. That was a huge buzzword in those days.

No, it's going to be really, really difficult to use.

Seriously, of course the goal is for it to be easy to use, and if your read any of the reviews of the Diamond, you'll see it works quite well. As well, yes, it includes a stylus, and should work exactly the same way it always has with it. I don't know what you mean about it having the same input as the 6700 and 6800, but it'll be Windows Mobile 6.1 under the TouchFlo3D shell, so if you're accessing other parts of Windows they should be no different than what yu'er used to.

Hmm, I hadn't noticed it didn't have an IR port. That's a big letdown. Im less reliant on it nowadays, but it's always nice to have.

Heck, the T-Mobile version of the phone that was unveiled last week had "only" 256MB of RAM instead of the 288 of the new one. Each carrier actually DOES have some leeway into some of the hardware for market and cost reasons.

There will be two slightly different versions of the phone. One will be GSM and one will be CDMA. Other than that, not too much of a difference. But those will be the distinguishing characteristics amongst the two, so far as we know. Sprint ... please don't f*ck this up!

Yeah, it's a bummer. I use the IR on my Apache all the time as a remote control, not just at home, but when I'm in hotels, etc.

It's actually enough of an issue for me that I may consider skipping the Touch Pro, whining a lot, and hoping that it's in the next phone I want.

uhh... I'm not surprised that IR isn't included.
It seems to be much less common nowadays.

That phone is dead sexy... Just what I wanted... I liked the normal touch but could not get over the fact that It did not have a keyboard...

I'd rather see this phone with the HTC branding instead of the Sprint branding plastered all over it. Yeah, and a black interface instead of the corny yellow ones that Sprint keeps polluting their smartphones with.

Just as with the Mogul, I'm sure we'll get unpolluted copies of the software available in custom ROMs within a few months of the phone's release. But yes, I'd rather avoid the Sprint logo on the phone if I can.

Re: Raphael = HTC Touch Pro

I'd do stuff with that phone. Provided nothing happens to my Vogue, that's my next phone once I can get it from Sprint.
