It also says RAPH800 under there, I'm sure. PPC6850 is just another model number ascribed to it. It's the same thing.

Heres what i did to get mine to work.

Goto Settings>Wireless Controls>Mobile Networks>Access Point Names>

From there select the default APN. Mine didn't have any thing to edit so i just made a new one.

Name: Cricket
APN: Cricket Mobile Web
Proxy: wap.mycricket.com
Port: 8080
Username:10DigitNumber@mycricket.com
Password: cricket
MCC: 310
MNC: 00

Then Menu>Save

Also on mine the newly created APN never showed on the list of APNs but my data still worked.
i tried those setting last time but it didnt work.. weird i dont know whats different??

Re: Linux/Android on CDMA Touch Pro -- Now working on Verizon! And with GPS!

I would guess the difference is how the account is set up somewhere on the backend. There's always been a few people from these other carriers for whom it just works. Quite confounding.

To all that are trying to get data working on cricket. I do have data working on my touch pro android i don't know if its just by luck that its working for me or what. But if anybody has any ideas or needs any info i am more than willing to help. Also i do know there is a HTML plan but i don't have it. I do although get the same speed as the HTML plan on the android OS witch is very interesting.

Host 216.198.139.92
Port 8889

I am now getting locks in 10 secs a la WinMo even indoors. YMMV.

Okay, so this didn't actually solve anything. It appears that I still randomly get locks...but mostly none at all.

I have tried using Winmo to get a lock first and then running haret but that always causes kernel panic and a reboot of the phone. When I load up Linux again that is when I will sometimes get a lock. Other than that, just a couple of satellites.

Could anybody shed some light on this? Other Bell users? Is your GPS running fine?

Re: Linux/Android on CDMA Touch Pro -- Now working on Verizon! And with GPS!

You don't really close programs, you just back out of them or go to the home page. It's best you just let the system manage the apps for itself. I know it is difficult for those coming from WinMo where they are constantly worrying about the X button and whether it closes apps.

If you insist, get a task manager and kill off only high level apps like browser or maps. Killing off low level apps often results in instability. New users often just go in and kill everything in sight to see a high free memory count.

Re: Linux/Android on CDMA Touch Pro -- Now working on Verizon! And with GPS!

I've been using Android exclusively now for a few days, and my clock was -way- off... so I dug up "ClockSync" from the app market. As it turns out, Bob is my uncle; I set it to auto-sync NTP every 15 minutes and now my clock is about right most of the time. Yay!

Also, I discovered pay apps using MarketEnabler - for Sprint I used ID 310120, which I think is actually correct (Hero according to various sites - see http://forum.ppcgeeks.com/showthread...115443&page=51 for use). Presumably there is some way to make the ID permanent, but running ME is good enough for me as rarely as I'm likely to buy apps.

My battery life is at least 5-6 disconnected hours on a charge (no GPS usually), which is plenty with my spare battery. Part of me thinks my battery meter is getting more accurate, and part of me thinks I'm getting used to popping away the warnings. No evidence either way, really, but it is much less annoying than when I started.

Forgive me if I duplicated some other posts. Exciting times to be using a TP; I see that the 3D driver is in the new XDAndroid, so I may have to upgrade soon. Thanks makk and all!
