Re: Linux/Android on CDMA Touch Pro (RAPH800)

Alright, right off the back...

I got a force close at the beginning and it seemed to bugggg the device for a bit while in the "setup" screens. Once I was able to get past that and able to select the Home++ icon... ITS FAST AND STABLE. Going into my first reboot right now and seeing if things speed up at startup this time.

THANKS LUCKYLUI. VERY STABLE AS FAR AS I CAN TELL.

Have you tried the outgoing MMS and seeing if it works? havent tried it on it yet... just checking...

EDIT1: Tried to add MMS settings but...reboot occured. will continue trying...

Re: Linux/Android on CDMA Touch Pro (RAPH800)

Can't believe the momentum behind this project. Know it ruined winmo for me. Fell in love with Android. Next cell will be that beautiful 4g evo, moving to Vegas and they got 4g.

Thanks to everyone that had a hand in this, brought android to the winmo masses in a big way. Bravo

Re: Linux/Android on CDMA Touch Pro (RAPH800)

I have been running android for a week or two now and am having the same issue throughout a few builds,

I get a few random crashes, it reboots the device(tp), usually happens when I hit the home(power) button to see the time then unlock it, it'll reboot from time to time.

Also, I ran the 3/19 all-in-one package and eventually those reboots got worse and it got to the point where I couldn't make a call, it'd just reboot every time.

I updated the rootfs and zimage and it worked for a few more days and now when I make a call the screen goes black but the top bar is still there, I guess it connects to the other side but I can't hear anything, they can hear me. This is using google voice and my cell number.

Any ideas why it is doing this?

Jon

That's a slew of random issues... first, have you tried formatting your SD card and starting with a completely *clean* build? You can rename your data.img to data.img.bak or whatever, just in case it doesn't help.

There are still a lot of weird random bugs in the system, and it's going to take a while to squash a lot of the less frequently occurring ones.

Try the fresh build, see if it makes a difference. There may have been some regressions recently...

When you updated the roots ans stuff did you put together fresh files??? Im asking because that happens to me when i just update the files and put them into the sd card and not make one whole new andboot file...

EDIT 1: If i put my own data file into my new build n zip it up for you all to try would that work??? The data part is what i need to kno..

SOMEONE CORRECT ME IF IM WRONG PLEASE!!!

I DONT recommend doing this , I believe once the data image is created and sync'd w.your network it keeps personal information... I dont know if this is true so please correct me if im wrong. Im not saying anyone here is going to steal your personal information but files travel through the internet and if im right, could end up in the wrong hands.

Sorry, someone close 2 me was victim of Identity theft...

Yea, I wouldn't share the data.img file. For any reason. Ever. I mean copies for yourself are one thing, but if you don't have a data.img file, one will be created on boot. So there's no reason to copy yours.

On the build I'm using, the Facebook app is "built-in"... perhaps you're not using the newest XDA tho, looks like you're using the newest build posted on pg1 of this thread.

If that's the case, your resolution is probably wrong. Edit your STARTUP.TXT and change the lcd.density=240 to 210. Let me know if that works/doesn't work.
