The date on the MR update is 9-25-2009. Is this the correct date or has the MR update been revised and fixed? Like I said before. I am pretty much living like a caveman with the exception of an old laptop tethered to my Touch Pro. I would love to have an old laptop tethered to a new Touch Pro 2 instead.

Changing the radio, shouldn't do anything. There is no magic "bug". I don't want to say a majority, because I don't know the numbers, but it's obvious the TP has some serious flaws with the way Sprint is replacing them with other devices. Sometimes they just seem to work real well...who knows...

Possibly...I was touting how good this ROM was over a month ago (http://forum.ppcgeeks.com/showpost.p...&postcount=255). I simply used it to do the "flash dance", and I couldn't believe how quick and stable it was. Of course it's only running WinMo 6.1, and TF3D 1, which is not like getting a TP to run WinMo 6.5.3 and Sense UI...
I have gone back to custom ROM's with my TP, I missed all the eye candy and other functionality they provide, albeit slower...

I verified that the TEP plan can be added on to an over 30 days from purchase TP1 (over a year in my case).

This is for this month only march 2010, or so they said so far.

This will allow me and some other poor bastards like myself that got screwed with screwed up units to cash them in on a new TP2.

Sprint in my case really owes me a replacement because the TP1 does NOT ring on incoming calls most of the time. This is a known issue that most people got lucky and resolved because they were either inside of the 30 day return or got TEP on their phones. HTC warrenty is a joke and ya can't add on TEP (back then) after 2 weeks or so. So I was sol with this phone.

Now thru this great deal from the original poster using TEP I can get a new TP2!

I just called and added TEP to my plan(it was supposed to have been added but wasn't) and had no problems getting it. Nothing about "March only" or anything like that...just told them that it wasn't there and to start taking more money from me and they agreed!!<G>

well after A LOT OF WORK i now own a tp2. right now sprint has a LOT of touch pro's and if you call them directly they will send out a touch pro. this was even told to me by retentions. also asurion when i spoke to them last thursday just got a whole shipment of old touch pro's in. they are also now replacing with a tp1.

the best way is in the store!!!! the store did it with no questions asked basically. but i got no where period with sprint on the phone and asurion. i have been a customer for almost 8 years and i have 9 total lines!!!

the store was awesome walked in and 15 min later walked out with the tp2. she even told me to bring the wife's in whenever i want to even though there is NOTHING WRONG right now with it and the store manager will (she is the one i dealt with directly) replace it anytime we are ready to do so. this store no longer deals with the tp1 AT ALL they dont want to see them or know them. they had a large stock of tp2's since she said they do replace a lot of them.

My Touch Pro screen died this past weekend, basically locked up. I tried multiple softresets, and finally a reflash of the last ROM from HTC, no luck. Went into the Sprint store and they mentioned about ordering parts for it, or upgrading to another phone. I chose the Hero, they offered me $60 for the TP and I got the $150 upgrade credit. I have had TEP since for years on all my Sprint phone. Not sure if I should call Sprint and see if they will do me an even exchange on my Pro for the Hero because of the Pro screen issue?

I called advanced technical support but they could not order the Touch Pro 2 for me because it is out of stock.

How do you guys deal with this? Do you call every day to see if they have any stock? or just wait and call back every 2 days?

It worked for me. Keyboard died. Went to the store and asked for an exchange. The gave me the options of 3 crappy phones but I didn't budge. They ended up ordering me a TP2. Should be here in a day or so.

what did you told them, that they ended up giving you the TP2???

I've been harassing the store and corporate since last fall. I have never once had someone offer to replace with a TP2. I guess I just have bad luck.

Not "hating," by the way. Just sharing my experience. And yes, I have TEP, and yes, my phones have been faulty. Every time they just order me a new (refurb) TP.

I told them that I was not going to accept a phone that didn't have the ram or processor speed that I paid for. I also told them that I specifically wanted a phone with a slide out keyboard. The only phone in the store that was close or equal was the TP2.

Same thing worked for a friend of mine. He ended up leaving Sprint and bought an iPhone.....and all he wanted was a TP2 to replace his third TP. Now he gets daily calls from Sprint begging him to come back and they're offering 2 TP2's to him. He got 2 TP2's now and one of his lines doesn't cost him a dime for a year.
