To be honest, I'm not sure if that's a good thing or a bad thing!

to further elaborate on the Error 67, this is due to the Rogue Internet sharing calling the "Tethering NAI" in the radio! sprint does not have a tethering NAI. thus they get the error. VZW and Telus users get the shaft as it initiated the tethering NAI, dials it and proceeds to rape us.

I running stock vzn where I installed the ICSsharing cab and the ICS fix cab. When I connect the USB cable I select disk drive and the open the ICS program from programs. Does this effect me? I am very confused...

I was going to ask the same thing! Do we still need the ICS and Wmodem fix cab or can we get rid of that tweak and just use the new hotfix?

any chef who isnt a noob will rmeove all the wmodem junk in his rom so ill have to say dont bother with the "fix" your asking bout.

So, in essence, just your new hotfix will do the trick, nothing else needed!? The reason I'm asking is because I'm using SPB backup and have that ICS and WModem fix cab in the back up! If I can get rid of that and just use your hotfix so that tethering is back to stealth mode, I will have to make a new back up of my system files!

Then you might still possibly have issues! Because, all the Wmodem stuff is still in there and thats whats causing the issues!

Thanks.

In theory, you should be fine, as Verizon will not allow you to use tethering without accepting the subscription.

I would wait for a response from Mike or Jeff, but I am sure there shouldn't be any issue.

Does this problem only relate to when the phone is connected to a computer through a USB cable to share internet or does this affect when you use built in Wi-Fi Router as well?

1 Attachment(s)
For Sprint, I have no extra charges and have over 7 gig's of usage. This is for Tether and Wifi Routing as well. No extra hack's just running Energy's "Phonton" ROM.

Verizon already doesn't know I'm tethered. Only thing I did was change the DUN NAI in PST to MDN@vzw3g.com from MDN@dun.vzw3g.com. Works for both USB and Bluetooth in the included modem link app and USB tethering via ICS in the stock ROM. No charges and no subscription signup proxy.

no reason to screw around now. this fix stops the Internet sharing app from calling the Tethering NAI. "@dun.vzw3g.com" or "@1x.Telusmobility.com"

This forum rules. Great stuff! So, let me get this straight, I should uninstall the 2 ICS cabs that I have on my stock VZN and install the hotfix? At that point, when I connect with the USB, I will get the third option of "internet sharing" and be undectable? Thanks for clarifying!

I have the tp2 / mmr (have not updated to the latest version yet, will do after this post) I have the $15 unlimited data plan and been with telus since 2000.

Looks i am ok for now, but wondering if this will change without notice at some point.

This shows the last 30 days (2.2gb) YIKES!

So, is tethering by HTC (CM's) WifiRouter safer vs. USB ICS tethering?

I have Sprint, so no problems either way (for now), but I did notice that I get Error 67 if I don't initiate a data connection Before running ICS. But no such issues with HTC WifiRouter.

I used tethering last month while traveling a lot and sprint bill showed i used 4.9gb(right under 5gb cap) - no tethering charges though but i always used wmwifirouter to connect. After reading this i tried to connect direct and to my suprise it seem to have worked i didnt get the error 67 error, although i disconected right away just to be on safe side. Im on Juicy R2
