Re: Does your screen show Rainbow Banding?

Yep got it. Phone is less than 2 weeks old.

Emailed HTC they said contact my local carrier since it was within 30 days for a replacement. I have been carrying it in a velcro holster since 3 days after I got it. The first 3 days were in a Blackberry case.

It definitely gets better if you pull the screen away from the phone using some tape, but on mine that does not last very long.

Re: Does your screen show Rainbow Banding?

Mine does it, but it seems to be most noticeable after it's been in my shirt pocket with the screen facing me. So I think it has to do with maybe my body heat or even sweat/moisture causing it. It is the same thing as the TP1 as my TP1 did the same thing. I'm actually getting a replacement unit Monday from Verizon because of this.

Re: Does your screen show Rainbow Banding?

I went into the sprint store to get my 4th tp1, i get the same thing it starts with that, then the touch screen stops woking. The sprint rep told me when i brought in my second phone and i qoute "Are you talking on your phone alot with it up to your ear? If so the htc rep told us that its overheating, so we suggest that you just use a blue tooth head set." so i replied, your telling me that htc designed a phone that you can't hold up to your ear. What a load of bs. Thankfully today i was given a free upgrade of my choice of wm phones, i chose the tp2. i only hope the designed this one to hold up to your ear.

Re: Does your screen show Rainbow Banding?

I had five Touch Pros and every one of them did that - it was completely unnoticeable when the power was on though so I never worried too much about it.

Re: Does your screen show Rainbow Banding?

Okay, without me reading this entire thread so I don't know if this has been said yet...

Is the screen in the original post wet? Or is it greasy?

Mine does that if I have greasy fingers and I touch the screen. After I clean the screen, rainbow gone.

I hear ya. Three of the bad refurbed replacement TP1s I was sent had bad screens. Actually, they weren't broken, they were just really sub-standard low-resolution grainy screens. It was like looking into an LCD monitor c. 1988, but with color. The Tech at the Vzw store tried to deny there was anything wrong, but thankfully his supervisor had a TP1 and noticed it right away.

So not only in my case did Vzw try to pass off refurbed as equal to a new phone I paid for, they tried to pass off sub-standard junk hardware as of equal value. *Is still sour about that*

MY thoughts exactly!

I had like 5 Touch Pro's. One one of them I put the touch pro on a CRT tv. The problem came right away. I took it off and the rainbow got smaller, put it on the CRT tv again and it got bigger again. Could be heat/magnetic problem. I'm not sure. I had like 3 tp's that did that. Luckiliy the kb died on them and it was covered and eventually i got a TP2 free of charge.

I say heat b/c when I'd tether with wifi I noticed it on a new phone.
