Re: Does your screen show Rainbow Banding?

None of the eight tp's I owned had that problem and not on my tp2. I would get that exchanged asap.

Its crazy how hit or miss this is, if you can call it that, considering all of mines had it.

Re: Does your screen show Rainbow Banding?

I do remember seeing this on my TP1 screen but only after installing the original screen protector and only under fluorescent lighting at certain angles. I know for sure that I didnt see that without the screen protector on.

Well I know all mine occured well before I ever put a screen protector on the phone so maybe its just coincidence that it happened after putting on the screen protector or like someone else said, in another post in another thread about this issue, maybe it has something to do with excessive heat. But that still won't make sense though since the tp2 doesn't get no where as hot as the tp1

Re: Does your screen show Rainbow Banding?

I have a few dead pixels on my tp2, which I can live with. But THAT is just unacceptable.

Did you, by any chance, leave your phone in the bathroom when you took a shower?

I was also in the same boat, I was on my 4th TP1, 3 replacements because of the same reason. Then I got TP2. I would be pissed off if it is happening to my TP2.

I have almost figured it out how it is happening. If you put the phone in your jeans pocket, facing the screen inward keeping the screen pressed against your legs, in a very moist atmosphere, like near the seashore, lake, or even in the bathroom, this may happen. I agree the TP1 screen is of very poor quality, and I do feel the same poor quality when I touch(or press) the TP2.

Another observation, on a good TP1 screen, you could see two reflections(very close to each other, one may be inside another reflection) of a light bulb, if you hold it an angle to see the bulb reflection. But on the defective one, you would see these two reflections are far from each other. which means, the outer layer is really bend inward in the center.

I hope this helps..
