Re: Insurance or not????

I recommend insurance

I've had insurance on my Sprint account since my 6700. Due to the crap build quality that HTC puts out, I've been upgraded to a Mogul, Touch Pro, and now Touch Pro2 all without paying anything, save for the one $50 fee when the broken phone was actually my fault

Re: Insurance or not????

IMO I don't think it is worth getting it until your one year manufacturer's warranty is almost up. Even then I would see what your device is selling for and make the call then. Especially since they raised the deductible to $100.

Re: Insurance or not????

even if its 100.00 costs more to replace it or to sign a new 2 year contract.

and you have to get insurance when you get the phone

Re: Insurance or not????

What if you bought the phone with your Visa CC that doubles your warranty? That would get me to my next upgrade contract and I don't keep phones longer than 2 years anyway...

I guess the only way this doesn't work is if I break it myself or drop it in the toilet which is where I spend the best quality time with my phone...

Re: Insurance or not????

Squaretrade! $68 and only $50 deductible for ADH. Spend your insurance claim money on whatever you want! (Even beer if you don't want a phone! I would like to see what assurion says if I want to replace my TP2 with a case? hahaha)

Re: Insurance or not????

You carry your phone around everywhere you go..Chances of you dropping it is likely which manufactor warranty doesnt cover. HTC Win MO phones we hack the registry to death and possibility of phone just stop working is likely.... So if you have a expenisive device it would only make since to get the insurance....I dont even see why this would be a discussion...it doesn't matter who you get insurance through as long as it's enough to replace your phone. Its a matter of common since.

It's not to me.

If I had paid for insurance (that I have never needed once) on all my PPC's back to day one, I would have wasted enough money to buy two or more TouchPro's easily..........

thats about the price of the deductible for year

let me put it in context.

If you get a 1 year contract. You pay 270

You pay 80$ for the insurance. which is $360 (about unlocked price on Ebay)

Lose the phone once, and its $449. Which, depending on carrier, is 1.5 times the price of an unlocked phone, and more than worth it.

Look at it this way, in a year. the device is already obsolete. Thse 50-60$ you pay extra per year saves you hundreds more on upgrades!
