Ok, something strange with TTS and Igo8 in a stock HTC LEO rom 1.48

If I soft reset LEO, Igo8 works with TTS

If I work with Leo and start Igo8 without soft reset TTS wont work

Without Soft Reset memory is - 175mb free
With Soft Reset Memory is - 192 mb

Any other way to tell whether you have PDA or PNA version? I don't have a 2577 folder.

hi...i am new to this forum and am trying to get some help with the GPS on my TP2 which, in a word, SUCKS! i have had the fone for 3 months - actually got the first one in november then had it changed out a month later and this current one has the exact same issue - and ALWAYS get the same message when the route is being found: "GPS signal weak. please move to an open area and stand completely still until signal found"...something along those lines. sprint tech support is no help...someone on the HTC Wetpaint forum recommended i might be able to get some tips here. however, reading the instructions above to download the igo8 i am completely lost. i have never synched this phone to my pc (nor my previous touchpro or mogul) and am not technically versed in doing much more on the fone beyond email, internet, texting and calling, i.e. synching, downloading, etc. so does that mean i am just screwed? or can someone give me some info or walk me thru before i throw this otherwise great fone (short of a google-based OS) out the window?!?! please help...i am incredibly frustrated! thanks so much!

Wow! Sounds like you rather have an Android to me. The TP2 is a great phone and can do alot of things you may not even be aware of. Be patient and someone WILL help you with this issue. Also check out xda-developers.com.

first things first. did you run quickgps first? second. what rom are you on, stock or custom? third (and i know it's a stupid question) but are you trying to get a signal inside a building or house?

I still haven't been able to see this software on my TP2. I have tried everything and have followed the steps on 1st post. What am I doing wrong? I keep getting message: "Program application database cannot be found. Please insert original application SD card." Could someone help me out with this please? I was told to delete the [folder] in SYS....tried but did not work. Thanks.

where exactly does data.zip go. I do have it just maybe not in the right place.

The "data.zip" goes in the root of the iGo8 folder.

Another thing that may help people with TTS. Once you select the voice that you want, go into the "voice" folder where your content is and move the voice files that are not being used to a different place like storage card or something like that. It seems that when iGo8 loads up, it loads all the voice files even though they are not being used. I tried this and have not lost TTS for over a week. I also noticed the speed of the app dramatically is improved, TTS works like a charm, and I don't get system or GPS lags anymore. I put all the "voice" files back in the "voice" folder to try it out and TTS stopped working when I rebooted the iGo8 app. maybe my phone is doing weird stuff ( i drop my phone a lot and have zapped it a couple times with an ESD gun on accident ).

Anyways, i hope this may help.

Try removing these lines and adding

[device]
Type="HTC Touch Pro T7272"
app="%SDCARD%/iGO8"

This of course assumes that you put everything in a folder called iGO8 on the root of your storage card.

If your version supports the Touch HD, then don't bother changing that line. It appears to me that iGO can't find the data store because you identified it as sdcard_dsk_num=7
