pockerpot- what exactly was your problem- were u unable to select landscape in the device settings? or when u opened the keyboard u got the half screen effect? did u ever try checking the device settings in the screen orientation page?
Yeah it was weird. If I opened the keyboard it would go half screen. If I changed the screen orientation settings it would reboot but would remain in portrait. If I booted it with the keyboard open I would have to shut it down and restart because it wouldn't switch back to portrait upon closing the keyboard.

So I never figured out what was wrong with it.

that is weird- I still have the same behavior if I open the keyboard- I get the half screen no matter what orientation I start with.
I wonder since we both have sprint TP2 and have used the same instructions that your problem somehow comes from whatever install of igo8 you are using- I have some across several so far- some very basic, others with alot of add ons- anyway glad you got it working

I had a similiar problem when I was using an igo install that had a lot of add ons- I'm assuming there was some type of conflict with one of the preinstalled .dll's. I only got it to work when I used an install of igo that was very basic- here are the files/folders that were in my basic install in the igo folder
folders:
content
defaults
license

files:
branding.zip
data.zip
gpstmc.dll
igo8.exe
sys.txt
tahoma.tff
tahomabd.ttf

Try getting your igo folder slimmed down to the above and then reinstall the tts files- in addition make sure your /content/voice folder is empty before adding the needed tts files
hope that helps

Hey xpsworm- the newest sys.txt you uploaded (about one hour ago) works great- I notice with the old sys.txt I got jagged edges around the items on the navitgation menu- now its nice and smooth- I 'm assuming this is due to changing vga=1 to vga=0 and highres=1 to highres=0?
what do those settings actually due?

There are two folders in data.zip, if vga = 1 and highres =1, it will read the folder vga, if you change them to zero, it will read the folder for WVGA. I'm glass that it works for you.

That sys file I uploaded should have everything the xpsworm one has. Try it out, if you want functional landscape mode.

Re: How to get iGo8 run on TP2 with TTS enable and 2009 NA Maps (step by step guide)

To those using the 8.3.4 version of iGO8, how much better is it than the last build of 8.3.2 (6/25/2009)?

What new features are there? And can you still run it in portrait mode?

ALSO: Since the TP2 has no dpad, how do you get it to repeat directions in portrait mode? I'd usually just press the center button on the dpad and it would repeat directions. I have no idea how to do it in portrait mode on the TP2.

Thanks in advance!
