Re: How to get iGo8 run on TP2 with TTS enable and 2009 NA Maps (step by step guide)

Thank you Rete. I copied the files however still could not susan/dave into work.
I even uninstalled all the programs from the device memory.. Also tried nopushinternet.cab

Now i am out of options ... unless if someone can help me get all allowable files/folders i.e. except any data like maps, pois, license etc.. i know it is too much to ask..

Thanks a ton for your help anyways.

Your software version probably does not support TTS; check Settings > About; then google it.

What is the latest version of iGo 8 that we can use following this guide? This was made a while ago and I am fairly certain there have been additional releaseses since then. In addition, what maps go with the newest version of iGo 8 using this guide. I would like to make sure the maps I am using are current. Thanks.

Most of the things still stay the same as in post #1. Only thing I have change is update the map and POI. I like the speedcam beep thing. Its cool. I also like the street number on the bottom of the screen.

Re: How to get iGo8 run on TP2 with TTS enable and 2009 NA Maps (step by step guide)

I dunno what's going on but recently my GPS is just not working (can't pinpoint exactly when, I haven't used it in a few weeks and when rete helped with the correct TTS files I only checked to hear the voice in the Settings > Regional selection). I keep getting this:

I have in Settings > External GPS, the port as Com 5 (always have) and the checkbox for letting Windows manage checked (always have as well). I also have installed GPSGate and tried that, within it it shows Com 5 working and receiving data but I just cannot get the GPS to go in iGO, stays as above screenshot with the bottom-right 3 green bars flashing only Appreciate any help...

Try running QuickGPS (built into your phone) then running Igo8 again.

This may sounds like a stupid question but does Igo8 require a monthly fee or anything you have to pay for?

You have to pay for it once, and then for map updates as well possibly, haven't really looked into it much myself though.

Re: How to get iGo8 run on TP2 with TTS enable and 2009 NA Maps (step by step guide)

i have TMOUS TP2, and experimented for iGO8 TTS quite a bit. <iGO_8.3.4.117940 (Nov 3 2009)>
Conclusion is that it's a hit or miss.
There is no sure way to make it work all the time.
However, there is a guideline to improve your chance.

1) secure memory as much as possible
2) use 16000 quality TTS. Using 32800 does NOT improve the voice quality that much while 16000 gives you much more chance of TTS working
3) susan seems to demand more resources than david

my 2 cents...

BTW, i'm on stock 6.1 ROM. I was not able to make TTS working with wm 6.5 TMOUS release.
