Re: Sprint 'MIGHT' match Verizon's $199 Price
this is a case by case basis. every account is different. what works for some people won't work for others.

Re: Sprint 'MIGHT' match Verizon's $199 Price
I was able to get them to match the price after several e-mails and complaining. Took a while but it was worth it in the end. This was actually after i paid for the device as well. They just credited my account

Re: Sprint 'MIGHT' match Verizon's $199 Price
I understand not wanting to give out personal info, but some "evidence" that others are getting this would make it easy for the rest of us. Even if it's just a copy of the email with your name and account info crossed out.

Re: Sprint 'MIGHT' match Verizon's $199 Price
Follow your basic CS strategies...
1) don't lose your cool, and be courteous to whomever you're talking to. Even if they don't speak english. 2) remember that first person you're talking to is NOT the person that will be able to help you in the end. 3) level your way up, like a video game, since they log all information about your calls...its always good to give them the info at each level. 4) asking for the supervisor may only get you the CS rep that has the most updated database on their terminal...OR the CS rep sitting across the cubicle of the rep you're currently speaking with. 5) escalate the issue gradually...let them steer you into the territory that you have no choice but to cancel. Don't ask for retentions...ask to cancel. (I was asked once by retentions if I actually said the word cancel to the previous rep I was on the phone with) 6) let them give you your way out of the cancel...just because they're a customer service representative, doesn't mean they don't know what you're trying to do 7) one last time, you get more with honey than you can with vinegar...so play nice. I hope this doesn't offend anyone...and those that have had issues dealing with CS reps...maybe those strategies can help you out.

Re: Sprint 'MIGHT' match Verizon's $199 Price
Looks like I'll be gettin my Touch Pro 2 for $200 plus $150 credit to my account...
I called Sprint at 2:00 (*2) and told them that I went to the Verizon store((really didnt tho) and I saw that they had the Touch Pro2 in there for $199 and I asked about and they said that they will give it to me for that price plus a discount if I port my number over and plus another discount because of the company I work for and then the lady kindly said well, let me see if I can do that.... came back and said yes I can give it to you for that price but you'll have to pay the $350 first and you get that credit back. Yes in deed it work with the matching so everyone should try and go ahead and use the same story if you want to cuz it worked for me. Last edited by Magoo_215; 09-25-2009 at 04:31 PM. |

Re: Sprint 'MIGHT' match Verizon's $199 Price
all i did was call *2 and wait through the automated part untill it said press 5 for cancelation ( goes through the options like 3 times before it adds that ) and asked if i was out of contract. the woman then asked why and i said because verizon has the phone cheaper, she then said we have the same price at 199. i asked if they would wave the activationa and shipping. she said yes. just be polite.
