If I want to surf the web when I do not have a wifi connection available, then a wifi router is of no use, right? My only choice is ICS over either USB or BT? Just trying to understand to be sure that I am thinking correctly that a wifi router is not of any help to me. Thanks. |

Re: WMWiFiRouter on TP2
No, wifi router uses YOUR DATA connection. So. if you use wifi router than a. your phone becomes a hotspot and b. it uses your data (SPRINT) to connect to the web. You will not need a different wifi hotspot.......... If I am understand you correctly. Say you are on the bus but don't have usb cord. Open wifi router turn it on and access the web from your computer on your ride to where ever you are going. Nothing else is needed

Is it a faster or slower connection than using ICS over USB? |

I love the wifi capabilities of WMWifiRouter but I also like to use the USB connection so my phone can take a charge while I'm tethering. I also like the interface of the program as well. I have installed the most recent version and it doesn't want to go. I think the CM Guardian might be part of it though and I'm not sure how to disable it. Has anybody else tried this? |

Re: WMWiFiRouter on TP2
You can kill/disable CM guardian using a program like "task manager v3.1" or use a cab found on bottom thread.
http://forum.ppcgeeks.com/showthread.php?t=88014 The OP of the thread made a cab for it, I haven't tried it though.

Re: WMWiFiRouter on TP2
There really needs to be a way for WMwifirouter to automatically dim the screen or turn it off while still running. It's really a tremendous waste of power to keep the LCD on full brightness constantly.
I used to map long end key press to lock, and it would dim the screen on my Touch Pro. But for some reason it goes straight to the normal lock screen at full brightness with the TP2. |
