I'm also having this problem but on VZW. I tried ##debug# but that must be a Sprint only code as I can't get it to work on the VZW TP2.

I did do ##778 but the HDR setting I see is HDR Hybrid and it says Enable. Rev A also eays enable.

Should I call VZW and ask for a DMU reset?

By any chance did you install the disable message sent cab for text messaging and/or attempt the reg hack to disable it?

To answer your questions about the ## codes, on Verizon you hit ##DEBUG and then the green phone button. Same with ##778

Would that affect download speed?

On my TP, just last week, I would test download speed. Came back at about 1.2m. It was an Alltell TP. In area where Alltel switched to Verizon. Got a Verizon TP2 last week. Noticed that speed is down to about 300k. Consistently.

I did install some different tweaks to do things like get rid of the message sent notification. Honestly, do not remember if I installed those before or after I started testing speed.

I have tried different PRLs, but no difference. Saw someone post that they installed an older rom version, ran 225, installed current rom version, and did 225 two more times and it fixed download speed. Problem for me is that I do not know how to get old/new roms installed.

BTW: hate that phone has 3g symbol instead of the Ra symbol. In my meek mind, the symbol is the problem

No. Ignore my earlier question about that. When I asked that question, I thought maybe one of those 2 hacks may have been causing an icon issue, but I've since determined that is not the case. There's something wrong either on the network side or in the radio. Not sure which yet.

You're not alone on this, this is exactly what happens to me as well, I called sprint trying to see what the hell is wrong, they told me to do a hard reset and if that didn't fix it then I should swap out the phone cause it's defective, Well it can't be just this phone defective if others are having the same issue...I hope that maybe a future rom update will clear this problem up, and also every once in a while when I goto web pages or check email it also pops to 1X but it does go back to EV eventually, just as long as I don't use any data for a while, I found that going in and out of airplane mode puts it back to EV way faster then a soft reset, Oh, and did I mention that I did do a HARD RESET and the problem is still there, so obviously it's nothing that I've done with the phone that may have screwed something up, still did this problem with the STOCK rom...Very Very annoying!!!

I had you up to ##DEBUG# but once I'm in the field test screen I see no "HDR menu" nor "AN/AAA authentication value"

My phone goes from EVDO to 1X a lot, once in 1X it will get EVDO back on its own eventually but it takes awhile.

go to bottom left hand side and you will see something to click on and when you click on it it will give you options of all the menus.

I'm running Energy ROM (Leo 28004) and this disable message sent cab is already applied.

I tried reversing the changes but the SMS sent message still does not pop up and neither does ##DEBUG#. All other ##CODE# sequences work fine.

I search for all occurances of these and set them as follows

SMSDeliveryNotify = 1
DisableSMSDeliveryReceipt = 0
SMSNoSentMsg = 0

I want to check my HDR settings because my phone frequently keeps flipping to 1X.

Help please.

I finally gave up trying to get debug to work and used Calkulins Kitchen to build a ROM. SMS notify is still off but ##DEBUG# now works. And EVDO us authenticated YIPPE. So I hope my 1x and #777 issues are gone now.
