Is there any special technique/method I should follow when charging the phone for the first time?

It's the initial charge that is the biggest influencer of a rechargeable's overall life (unless you totally abuse it of course). While there are varying opinions and different chemistry batteries vary here and there, the initial charge is mission critical. I've read too many articles in trade magazines and been selling rechargeables for CE devices for a good decade or so now - please do yourself and your battery the justice and give it that full charge first.

Good luck with the new one, and I like your sig, especially the Nynex... boy, where did they go (and can we blame it all on that phone?)

What is your idle (non-use) drain rate?

What is your idle (non-use) drain rate?
If you happen to have an extended period of non-use, or only little use (text, data, calls), what is the drain rate of your TP2?

In a typical 12-14 hour day, what is the % battery that remains on your TP2 with relatively little use?

I am asking because, while the TP2 uses less power while IN-USE, it appears to me that the idle drain rate is relatively fast. I have double checked and made sure nothing is running, including Push Internet.

Has anyone seen 24 hours or more with the TP2 without needing charge?

Thanks!

I've noticed just the opposite. The idle drain rate seem's to be decent enough, but when I'm using it the battery dies fast.

BTW, out of curiosity why do you have four cellular providers?

I am a CTO, managing large systems. This is my way (excuse) of keeping tabs on new systems and offerings. I like to tinker with stuff all day long, much to my staff's dismay.

You get 10 hours of sleep? Lucky. The 40% left and 40% after 10 hour behavior is how my TP1 is. With TP2, for some reason, it self-drains... I am still looking for a source.

Does anyone have any other suggestions on extending TP2's battery life..? i.e.- turning off GPS, lowering backlight, registry hacks that work.. What else..??

Thanx

Disable push internet. Should keep your phone from connecting to the data network uselessly and also should help keep Opera from running in the background constantly too. Turning off data/wifi/bluetooth when you aren't using them or have a use for them would be good as well.

Opera still runs in the background when push is disabled. There is a cab floating around that automatically removes Opera from the background while turning off push internet. Just be warned that Opera opens dramatically slower. Think how slow it was opening for the first time, when you saw the HTC logo come up while you waited. It will do that everytime, but then give you back almost 10mb of memory.

Does anyone know of any other options. I have push internet disabled on my phone but it keeps connecting to the internet every couple of hours. That has to be a drain on the battery. I like Opera but I don't like that it it connecting for no apparent reason.

Anybody have any ideas? Thanks for your help!
