Yes, the problem exists even without a group policy but only with TF3D enabled.

Does the problem repro if someone simply turns on PIN lock without being forced to by a group policy from their company? Or could there be something else in the group policy package that is causing this?

This brings up a related question. Is it possible to replace the default PIN unlock with something better like ThrottleLock that could still be considered as "secure" as a PIN?
paulbram -> i'm not sure about 'only repros when using the PIN unlock mechanism'. my phone goes immediately to the home screen even if the screen lock has not been engaged. meaning, i have the lock set for 5 minutes, but the phone returns to the home screen after 5 seconds on the calls and the speaker next to my ear.

One of those mods I installed could have enabled the small regedit here to just work now... regardless - it works without a hitch now on my TP2 on Telus network.

man shut up the phones only been out 13 days "this has been an issue for quite some time now"<--------That was funny

New Response From [ Cheryl (North America Support (Product Info)) ]Hello Terry,

Thank you for email to HTC Technical Support about the Sprint Touch Pro2 and the proximity sensor.

I cannot say what is being done pertaining this insight into the device but I can say that we are looking into this. I do not have a timeline on what if anything can be done for this. It maybe and issue or it may not. It is possible that the device was designed to function in this matter. The only thing I can for certain tell you is that we are going to test this and look at matter and intently.

Thanks for your insight and please keep checking to see if there maybe some type of fix. Or you can email us again to see what we have discovered.

Thanks,

Kay

Wow, Jessie posted that a week ago to the day! Even at that point he'd had his TP2 for about 45 days then, and not 13. Telus TP2 was released end of July dude and I believe he got his within a day or two of release.

Re: How to stop defaulting back ot the home tab

Thanks Tsowen- I also sent an email to HTC.
As an aside I think I might have another workaround for the problem while in a phone call (pls keep in mind that my problem is intermittent so this may not actually work)
After installing the SSK TP2 Dynamic Resource Proxy.cab my phone problem seems to have gone away- now when I pull the phone off my ear the screen stays on the phone keypad and does not go back to the home screen- someone else with the problem should try this out any report back!
BTW the phone still defaults back to the home screen if I press the power button

Re: How to stop defaulting back ot the home tab

Just to add my 2ยข, after reading this thread, I was scared that I'd have this problem when I got my TP2. I got the phone today and haven't installed any programs or tweaks yet, and I don't have the problem. I also haven't set my phone to lock either, so maybe it's because you guys are locking your phone?

I will report back if it ever happens.

Tried the SSK TP2 Dynamic Resource Proxy.cab from SSK and no dice still get where my dialer gets minimized. I have removed my push email, disabled the default lock app and problem went away so I am 100% sure this is where the problem is.
