out of curiosity do you have a screen lock enabled on your phone (i.e. settings/personal/lock)??

sebo -> my issue is with making a phone call. try calling your voicemail box, put the phone to your ear after it connects, leave it against your ear for 10-15 seconds, the screen should go dark, and then remove the phone from your ear.

My phone takes me back to the home page (clock). i then have to click a bunch of buttons to get back to the phone.

Annoying!!

Re: How to stop defaulting back ot the home tab

I'd really like to fix the "return to the home screen" issues that happen in call when the prox sensor shuts off the screen, and when the device is put to sleep. I have device lock disabled... it did this out of the box :-/
I have the Verizon version.

Re: How to stop defaulting back ot the home tab

I have the same issue the Reg Hack seemed to work for me. I have the Device lock enabled because I have to for push email but I am not changing it to 0 for timeout I am hoping that the registry hack did the trick. I did only notice this yesterday when I set up my push email so I am assuming that the device lock is doing this which would be a design flaw with the dial pad returning to the homescreen when In call. It must be causing a conflict with the proximity sensor somehow.

Re: How to stop defaulting back ot the home tab

I performed a Hard Reset, enabled the Device Lock and set it for 24hrs. Made a call and pulled the phone away from my face to see if I could reproduce the same effect to alleviate a software conflict and sure enough while in call when I pulled the phone away from my face the dial pad dissapeared and I was back at the home screen. Sent an email into HTC to see if they where aware of this or could test it themselves and possibly offer a fix.

Seems some of our GSM brothers over at XDA having the same issue as well http://forum.xda-developers.com/show...69#post4563769

Re: How to stop defaulting back ot the home tab

Okay so I thought I had it fixed with the Registry Hack and no dice, did the whole changing the Device Lock to 0 and no dice. If I am "in call" and pull the phone away from my ear and move the device back and forth towards myself it will minimize the dial pad and go to the Home Screen.

Edit: I am going to temporary sticky this thread and see if we can't fix this problem.

So things I have tried:
Hard Reset and still produce the error with Device Lock enabled.
Performed Registry hack listed in this thread and still produce error.
Changed Device Lock to 0 and still produce error.

Others have installed the HTCPedia Rhodium Setting Tool and disabled light sensor and still produce the error.
