thanks for clearing this up. i was willing to pay if i needed the SIM unlocker but for now ill just get the HARD SPL when it comes out. I still will be donating once it is released because the guys and gals who created it make my phone worth while (stock rom is crap )

Dont forget....its not going to be that easy for sprint...but they have a fix for it ....you will still need the unlocker....10.5GBP

I Browse ppcgeeks.com Occasionally and i currently have a Verizon TP2. I Have Been Following The Unlocker/hardspl thread/THREADS and its starting to get annoying like the mods have said. but my main ? after all of this is what is the sim unlocker going to enable verizon user to do once it is used on the tp2... ive searched a little but havent found a flat out answer...


any responses are appreciated and im sure there is a few more people out there that have the same ? and they r just afraid to get flamed...Flame On If You Wish!

See without the SIM unlock, your VZW's TP2 can only use the SIM card that VZW issued you for international roaming. After all not everyone has CDMA network in their country.

Also, you may want to use the phone on two different networks such as AT&T since they use GSM, but without unlocking the SIM (subsidy) lock, your TP2 won't work except what VZW gives you.

The unlocker that will be supplied is necessary to be able to use GSM signal in the US. There is more to it as cmonex has stated and they are working on that as we speak.

The sim unlocker won't do anything for the verizon users being that you can call verizon and get it unlocked to where you can use ANY sim card which has been tested mutliple times. The sim unlocker is mainly for sprint users, the sprint version of the tp2 is already unlocked but the problem is you can't use it with any U.S. gsm carriers, once you cross the border you are good to go. So the sim unlocker will give us the ability to use at&t or tmobile sim cards here in the U.S.

So If I AM undderstanding all 3 of you guys correctly i could get say... an at&t sim card outta my friends iphone and slap it in my VZ TP2 and it would work but on his number not mine...Correct Me If Im Wrong.
