Re: I Have Sprint Do I Need SIM Unlocker When HSPL Drops?
You only need the sim unlocker if you plan to use a USA sim service(tmobile/at&t) in conjunction with your sprint service. Or I suppose you could completely move to one of those networks if you chose. Additionally you might want to sim unlock to flash a different radio but doubt many non advanced users will be doing this.
Most people won't want of need the sim unlocker judt the HSPL unlocker to flash any rom of their choosing. |

I understand the importance of the HSPL, but what is the real use of the sim unlocker? I know you can use sim cards out of country out of the box.. Any reasons one would want it unlocked?

Re: Sim Unlocker
This is so you can basically use your phone with a different carrier. I>E use Sprint phone on Tmobile network. While the phone is already unlocked for international world use when travelling abroad, the SIM is locked for domestic US use. So if you wanted to use a different carrier within US you would need to unlock SIM. There are also a few other reasons you might want to do this such as : if you are using a TP2 from work and on weekends you want to use as personal phone, you might need it unlocked so you could have your own account on another carrier, also if you live in an area with bad coverage on one network, you may have a reason to use another network. I am sure there are other scenarios but I believe that;s the gist of it. You really should not need it if you are just travelling abroad as it is already unlocked in Sprints case. I believe with Verizon all you have to do is call and request an unlock if you eet certain account requirements.

Re: Sim Unlocker
I was under the impression it was to use domestic carrier sims in our sprint phones as these are locked currently from use. But after reading Cmonex's latest post it seems this functionality is not working yet.
