Re: Sim Unlocker

I thought that was what it was. I couldn't see much reason to have two person lines on two different carriers, and also wouldn't we still have the problem of trying to activate these phones on an off branded carrier? (Sprint on verizon ect.) Thanks for the quick reply.

Re: Sim Unlocker

I suspect that most people will not need/want to unlock their SIM. I'm not going to unless there is a reason why I want to use another carrier.

It's also more marketable when you go to sell it if it can be used domestically on all the carriers.

Re: Sim Unlocker

From my understanding a simple phone call to VZW will get you an unlock code if your account is in good standing.

Re: Sim Unlocker

What about for Sprint? lol Why would the carriers unlock they're own phones though? There has been times I've been tossed around getting the MSL code.

Nvm, misread last post.

sprint sim unlock ?

I have a sprint touch pro 2 and i have a few questions about the upcoming unlocker. I unlocked my old touch pro by simply syncing my phone and running the app on my PC. This new Hard SPL unlocker seems a little different. So when it comes out i will run an app while my phone is synced and my phone will be unlocked. The part i am really confused on is the SIM unlock. All i want to do is install ROMS and update my radio so will i need to unlock my SIM? I use the sprint service and have never had an issue with signal or anything.

On a side note this is my work phone and i may be traveling internationally soon so will that require me to SIM unlock. Basically it boils down to the fact i have no idea what the SIM unlock will do or why i need it at all; can one of you nice people clue me in?

Re: sprint sim unlock ?

sprint is already sim unlocked. so you can pick up a prepaid SIM while your abroad and pop it in and call whoever you want.

Re: sprint sim unlock ?

why would i pick up another SIM card if mine is unlocked. I dont pay the bill my company does so i dont care about the charges being made i just want to ensure it will work over seas.

Will i need to pay the small fee to unlock my sim if its already unlocked? Like i said i just want custom ROMS and radios on my phone that is all.

Re: sprint sim unlock ?

No you don't. your phone already works with non-US gsm carriers. If you use the Sprint SIM card, you'll just pay whatever Sprint charges you for whatever country you're in. If your company wasn't paying for you you'd want to get a cheaper overseas card. But people have tested the sprint version overseas and it works fine.

The SIM unlocker is to allow you to use the US GSM carriers lines.

Keep in mind you won't have 3G speeds on the GSM radio.

He is right! Just to summarize all you need is the hspl unlocker not the the sim unlocker. Your sim is already unlocked
