This didn't work. The first thing I did when I received my Sprint Touch Pro2 before putting a battery in and turning it on was swap the SIM for a T-mobile unit. I tried to see if it would register or even find any GSM signal before activating the phone. It did not.

Were you in the States? Here's the thing, doesn't matter WHAT SIM you put in there, as long as it goes (roaming or home service) onto ANY US-based GSM networks such as AT&T or T-Mobile, the Sprint's TP2 will simply refuse.

Of course if you are outside of the States then that's a different story.

I think it does not have to be unlocked just outside of US with non Sprint sims. One OP is going to China soon in this post http://forum.ppcgeeks.com/showthread...highlight=sims

Re: Sprint Touch Pro 2 Sim Unlocked

Just putting in my 1 cents worth I purchased a Sprint TP2 and when landing in DR placed powered it on with MY AT&T sim and it worked perfectly so this device is not sim locked at all, it obviously has firmware or the like that rejects US Cell Towers now on the other hand I dont know what the technical difference is but my colleagues vzw tp2 after speaking with vzw works perfectly in the us with his at&t sim Im so jealous it appears that the sprint tp2 umts frequencies would allow it to connect tp att's 3g network ............ any progress on this I know I didnt dream my phone calls

Re: Sprint Touch Pro 2 Sim Unlocked

Verizon TP2 works with Tmobile or ATT sim after tech support gave them unlock code with is 8 digit number, While Sprint Tech Support does not know about their TP2 product. I've noticed that Sprint TP2 sim is unlocked already but when I tried both Tmobile and Att sim, GSM only, network cannot be found. I don't know what's going on with Sprint TP2.

Re: Sprint Touch Pro 2 Sim Unlocked

I wonder why Verizon TP2 works with Tmobile or ATT sim, someone already claimed that Verizon TP2 does work with GSM sim from Tmobile or ATT after tech support gave them 8 digit # unlock code. What is wrong with Sprint TP2?
