The phone is locked for U.S GSM carriers. It is unlocked for overseas carriers. This means you can go overseas and get a prepaid sim and put it in your phone. All Sprint phones are always like this that are world edition phones.

So then what's the proper term for this? SIM unblocking? SIM unlocking?

SIM-Allowing for AT&T and T-Mobile to operate alongside your Sprint or Verizon phone?

Did anybody try to call Sprint and tell the that they are going to a country not in on the drop down list on this page ---> http://www1.sprintpcs.com/explore/co...ing/Search.jsp ?

AT&T has been known to unlock phones if you tell them this.

Trust me I work for sprint, you aren't going to get this phone to work on at&t or t mobile and why would you ever want to. Just go buy a TP 2 from at&t or t mobile. and to neilson.... the sim is unlocked. that is how you would say it.

But I mean, the term to make the phone functional with AT&T and T-Mobile.

Is it still called SIM Unlocking, or is it called SIM-unrestricting? Remember, it's unlocked for every other carrier except AT&T and T-Mobile.

Think about this. If this phone got a bad ESN for Sprint, if the SIM is unlock, you can at least use it on ATT or T-mobile.

Good point. ;]. I acutally have a TP2, clean ESN I want to sell. But I still need more posts to make a thread on here to sell it.

Wow so this time Verizon's version is better (if you really need to have your CDMA TP2 run on a US GSM carrier's network).
