Re: How To: Configure GPS
I second that. I've been checking back to this thread a while looking for the updated first post including VZW..

Re: How To: Configure GPS
I'm in a similar boat with Verizon. Inside of Google Maps, when I let the application do its own thing (Using Windows to handle GPS), I get "Seeking GPS Satellites (0)" indefinitely. When I manually set it to use COM4, I get the same Seeking GPS Sattelites message, but instead of (0) I get some massive number (this time when I tried, it was 29641862
I haven't been able to get anything going GPS-wise, so I'm wondering if some systems vrom VZW were good to go out of the box and others need to be coaxed... |

I should say: I have had gps working on the device, but the lock time made it essentially unusable to me. Last edited by csper; 09-18-2009 at 12:50 PM. |

Re: How To: Configure GPS
GHAA...
I went into QuickGPS and d/l'ed the latest details (and made sure location svcs were turned on) - now the number has changed to 430636356. I did *something* to change it, but still no actual GPS functionality, per se. Good times, good times. |

Re: How To: Configure GPS
And now it's magically working. I think, best guess, that (at least for Verizon) you MUST turn on Location Services - this one's pretty obvious - and the best way to do that is through QuickGPS... then it seems like you have to be out in the wide open the first time to get it to "wake up" and then you're good.
OTOH, maybe the next time I try it I'll be dead in the water again... |
