It isn't necessary, but it may make your gps faster and more accurate (More satallite lock on's). I even pull 5 sat lock on's in my basement.

Re: How To: Configure GPS

what is this GPS cabs supposed to do? I have been using all 3 HTC devices, Mogul, Tp & now Tp2 and i have never install any gps tweaks. i would just install tomtom and it would work just fine. although in the Tp and Tp2 the lagg is horrible and what i mean by lagg is how accurate is the software to pin point my location on the actual street not how fast it locks a signal from the satellites. i would be half a block and the GPS shows i am at the beginning of the Block.. very very bad

My GPS was lagging bad while driving, so I installed the "GPS Registry - Sprint.cab" as a last ditch effort. Now my GPS doesn't even function. I will now try the gpsOne settings step.

Wow sry to hear that bro, I install the Sprint Gps tweak in hopes it will get rid of the street lagg but it did not help at all.. i am going to try to use garmin instead.
