Re: Touch Pro 2 FM Radio Questions/Answers
No. The primary reason is that the hardware does not support it. The primary reason that's the case is because the carriers did not want it.

In this thread, it's quoted from HTC that is said that it's software disabled by choice of the carrier (and followed up a few times through out the thread), it just needs a rom update to be enabled (PRL ?), so hardware is there, just not enabled software wise. So, the question comes up, now with it legal to jailbreak a phone, that is now not carried by any provider (Vwz and sprint, disco'ed), wouldn't it be ok/legal for HTC to release a un-supported rom update to enable this ? Just makes me wonder why the experts never found out how to enable this though but, it might come down to needing the source code to enable it....

2) because its not possible dude!! 3 years theyve been trying! All your doing is added fuel to a dead fire.. just stirs up arguments for something proven not to work.. And you know HTC also tells you the battery overheating on TP1s is SUPPOSE to happen.. and that LAG and FREEZING, is SUPPOSE to happen on TP1/TP2.. do you believe everything someone says.. do you you take visual and years worth of proof.. you have 3 years of trial and error and the fact no cdma TP2s(and others) to date have FM radio- any reason why you REFUSE to look at the PROOF?? PIC or it didnt Happen ya know...

There is probably some reason that you believe changing a Preferred Roaming List could do this, but I can't imagine why you'd believe that. Nope. Hardware is there (in that there's a chip with an FM receiver), just not physically connected in a way that makes it usable. Quote:

It comes down to the fact that, on our devices, it's not possible. |

Re: Touch Pro 2 FM Radio Questions/Answers
It would be useful for iGo which can get traffic data via the FM Radio. Otherwise, I wouldn't use it.
